At what point did you "pay" to have the spit 16 specifically?

And if it were perked it it wouldnt be taken away, it would still be available but as with the other perked items in the game you would have to earn the ability to use it.

As an all around fighter its better then any of the other perked or (non perked for that matter) plane IMO and as such should be perked.

Oh and I would not be adverse to perking the La7 or the Niki either.
I just dont think they deserve it as much as the spit 16 does

Funny all this over what is basically a 1943 Spit LF IX, in an MA that is still dominated by 1944/45 rides.

Yup add them up - The 1944/5 rides are still collectively the dominating choice.

I've flown one or two sorties in it. I much prefer the Spit VIII, Ki-84, Mossie, Bf109G-14 or Fw190A-5. And it makes life hell for the last three on my list. I still say no.

Wonder if the icon tag and plane option read Spitfire LF IXe instead of Spitfire XVI would this discussion be taking place?

Psychological thing?
i.e. XVI is higher Mk than XIV so must be a later better, faster variant. Unless you know your Spits you'd assume so.

I think that about hits the nail on the head.

I flew a few Spit16 sorties tonight. Admittedly, its not a bad plane, but, im pretty sure id have had about the same success in a Spit8 or Spit9. And honestly, the fuel range is quite a bit annoying, especially if you cannot pack a slipper due to continuosly porked ordenance/fuel.

So my votes still NO.

It was introduced as a none perked plan in the game wich you pay a monthly fee.
If it is then made to a perk plan it has been taken away.

Now from jow I understand the reson for perk rides is to make it a more level playing field.

Just imagine if there were no perk planes LOL everyone would be jet pilots.

But I have seen nothing in this plane that should make it perked.

I say no on perking the XVI.

While I think it is the best overall non-perked plane there are still many planes that at the very least can disengage from a fight with one if they decide too.

why perk it in the first place? Just learn how to fight it like all of us learned to fight the lalas and spits. if it's a problem with it out running you, fly a lala, outtruning you? fly a hurri or a6m. For the love of god, the perk system is fine LA7's, N1K's, Spit16's all have an eny value of 5 which is good enough IMHO just fly smarter.
