ROFLMAO!

Anybody checked out the customer reviews at www.ebgames.com  on WWIIONLINE?

Its the funniest toejam I've ever seen. It looks like CRS have someone posting reviews with headlines (attached to five star ratings) like this:
"FORGET WHAT THEY SAY!"
"ONLINE COMBAT AT IT'S FINEST WW2 STYLE"
"AMAZING GAME"
"GREAT GAME NOW"
"A++"

If you've got a spare few minutes at work, its worth the laugh (equally as funny are the easily spotted "real" reviews, the 1-2 star jobbies like "I'd rather light my nuts on fire" and "ever heard of beta testing?")

LOL even funnier is the guys who say they are addicted.  This must be the same impulse that causes people to become addicted to inhaling spray paint
or causes one to post thousands of times on a bbs for a game one hardly plays
DOH!

Well, Since I consider AH a waste of good coding, and have a blast in WW2OL, I guess it is all a matter of taste, eh?

It works well for me, and since I didn't tattoo the hype on my ass, I can live with what is there not what is promised.

If you are having problems with the game, I can understand your frustration, but it works for me, and it is a kick in the ass.

I'm not having problems with the game and I'm not frustrated - I deleted that POS near the end of beta.  If people like the game, cool, have fun.  I just thought some of the reviews on that website were amusing, because they were either deceptively positive or hilariously angry.

That surprises me Funked, is it because of the air part, the hype or what?  What is there seems to work well and simulate combat pretty good.  What exactly cause's it to be a POS in your opinion?

Anyone else notice that virtually none of the good reviews have a name attached?  Could it be the boys at CRS are throwing in the good reviews?  hmmm, I wonder.

I will say this:  Had I not been exposed to the typical cycle of online games, I would probably have been cursing CRS with the best of them.  With this knowledge, however, I am willing to give them the time(and money) to get it working for the masses.

Sorry gadfly, but weren't you the one trying to tell us that the CTDs were purely user configuration problems?

I still think they are, in fact, I know that they are.  There are many without them, ergo, the ones with them have a problem on their end.  The server has no preference, and if it was random, we would all suffer them more or less equally.

the new patch v120 is great. True, the flight FM is laughable (although I like their engine power loss when at negative G's and the cockpit "feel"), its quite fun in the ground aspect.

Last patch gave infantry some anti-armor capacity. I had a BLAST using my french rifleman to blow a track, wait for the turret to swivel in my direction (standing point blank range from tank) and popping a few rounds into the open hatch of the driver and the gunner. And even better when the commander rears his head to see WTF is happening.. POP!  :D  :D  :D

Some issues with the game yes, but its very fun to play. I even saw some army and ex-army in RL guys form up tanks and infantry and assault a town...was quite a sight!
