Why is it that all other forms of weapons deployment is left to such guesswork?
A properly calibrated bomb site will put a bomb EXACTLY where the cross hairs are when a bomb is released.
When you fire fire rockets from a PT boat, you have no indicator of how far they are shooting... Didn't PTs have a launching angle = X range for rockets? I.e. Launch rockets at 20 degrees, they go 1000 yeard, or at 40 degrees, they go 2000 yards?
A Stuka dive bomber had a degree ladder of some type on the wind-screen to help the pilot drop bombs. Why not in AH?
Naval guns used range finders to home in on a target, why none in AH?
Several fighter aircraft had gyro-scopic bomb and gunsights, why none in AH?
There are some more examples, but I can't think of them all right now. ANyway, why is it that only level bombing is made so easy?
