Why is it that all other forms of weapons deployment is left to such guesswork?

A properly calibrated bomb site will put a bomb EXACTLY where the cross hairs are when a bomb is released.

When you fire fire rockets from a PT boat, you have no indicator of how far they are shooting... Didn't PTs have a launching angle = X range for rockets? I.e. Launch rockets at 20 degrees, they go 1000 yeard, or at 40 degrees, they go 2000 yards?

A Stuka dive bomber had a degree ladder of some type on the wind-screen to help the pilot drop bombs. Why not in AH?

Naval guns used range finders to home in on a target, why none in AH?

Several fighter aircraft had gyro-scopic bomb and gunsights, why none in AH?

There are some more examples, but I can't think of them all right now. ANyway, why is it that only level bombing is made so easy?

actually if anythig the big guns on the ships are dummied down from their RL counterparts.

I do however agree that I would like to see some kind of sight/rangfinder on PT boats.
Kinda find it hard to beleive they just fired rockets blind like that

On a plus note, the ship guns can actually be disabled....for a long time, that wasnt the case

Land mode on naval guns and shore batteries gives exact range and co ords to points on the map.

Agreed re the rest of the points made.....

At first, I thought the simplifed 'norden' wasn't too bad.

But now, I must agree - bombing is way too easy.

You can customize gunsights, if you need help with JABO A/C such as the Stuka.

There are many variables with the norden, proficiency being a main part. What happens when you get shot up (like me) and lose an engine prior to, or during your run?

Im sure Ill get corrected and rejected, however precision high alt buffing is not that easy. By no means is it as accurate as land mode from the cruiser, those shells go right where you tell them.

Just my 2 cents

It's easy. I wrote the manual.

If you lose an engine and your speed changes, adust the speed using the throttle and E6B to match your plane's speed to the calibrated speed and bam, case solved. I can do it in about 30 seconds, starting from the point where the engine quits and speed starts to fall.

I tell them "Go hit that fighter hanger" and "Go hit that shore battery" but they just don't go there that easy. Ya got bomber sights Hooked into yer crusier guns?
