Nice to see you finally pay attention to 'em Rosco! :) Folks from around the country are ignoring the Hawks hoping we go away...no respect from the East, hell most of the folks on this board have only seen us play 1 game in regular season...its funny that they don't realize that the best team in football has been right here in the Pacific Northwest this year.

Steelers will lose to the Hawks. :)  We have too many weapons, experienced QB playing with the same O-Line for 5 years now, MVP RB, #1 offense, #2 defense inside the 20 yard line....Go Hawks!  The Hawks will probably be underdogs, so if you got cash, take the points! Its going to be ugly for the Steelers!

Yeaaa I remember way back saying the same thing about the Vikings who at the time had either pro bowl players or former probowl players at nearly every position.

The Skinny: We have two teams that feature hot quarterbacks. Ben Roethlisberger has been on fire in the playoffs, throwing seven touchdowns and one interception in three games. Matt Hasselbeck has also put up impressive numbers in two games. He's a quarterback who doesn't get his due. It looks like the team with the better quarterback play will be the team that wins. Mike Holmgren took Green Bay to two Super Bowls, winning one, while Bill Cowher has been to one, losing it. Both coaches have good staffs and get the most out of their teams. Both teams play hard and to the whistle. Seattle has never been to the Super Bowl, so that could affect them. The Steelers haven't won one since 1979, so that could be added pressure. They are evenly matched teams, even if the oddsmakers think Pittsburgh is the better team.

Key Team Matchup: Alexander won MVP honors by rushing for 1,880 yards and scoring 28 touchdowns. He then broke a playoff-game slump by rushing for 132 against the Panthers. But the Steelers do not give up yards on the ground. They allowed just 3.4 per rush this year, best in the league, and limited the Broncos, the league's second-ranked running team, to 90 yards. The Seahawks have a powerful offensive line that opens huge holes for Alexander. But doing it against the Steelers' defense will be tough.

Key Individual Matchup: The Seahawks put corner Marcus Trufant on Steve Smith a bunch Sunday and he did a heck of job. Expect to see him draw Hines Ward for much of the day in the Super Bowl. Ward is the Steelers' best receiver, so taking him away is a good idea. Roethlisberger had a big day spreading the ball around against the Broncos when Champ Bailey did a good job on Ward, so that must happen again if the Steelers are to move the ball on offense.

Players on the Spot: It's the two quarterbacks. Both will be playing in their first Super Bowl, and that adds a ton of pressure to a position that has plenty of it already. Here's a good guess that whichever quarterback plays the best will be the one that wins the ring. Will it be Roethlisberger or Hasselbeck? They've both been on fire.
