Then you add on the credits that for some reason pay you money back and I made out like a bandit.

Next year, same situation cept my wife will have more income and I will have a bunch more deductions.

God bless you...your way under paid and we need to do something about it.

My take?

MT is far too liberal and far too social engineering for me but...

He is a mile ahead of every major candidate we have had for some time.

Eagler, you've never, ever impressed me as being less than incisive and intelligent. I'd have to agree, if I was looking at a platform with stated goals in writing, I'd go republican.

Unfortunately, the folks that represent us are in washington to line their pockets and litigate and politic for their financial owners, not the constituent voters that they are obstensibly there to represent.

This theivery and pandering is rampant on both sides of the isle, and IMHO the overwhelming majority of both the republican and democrat politicans we have in office rate as theives and crooks undeserving of your (or my) respect as 'honest' representatives of the people that elected them or the platform they were sent out to advance.

Lastly, I AM doing something about it. Besides 'whining'. Hope you'll peel the blinders off, see the systems busted and start advocating for change and indictments for any politican, regardless of party affiliation that sticks his grubby hands into the dirty money cookie jar.

Hang
The easy thing to do would be to enact term limits for them
That to me is the biggest issue and the one that should be easiest to correct
The fact they get up there, make contacts and get more corrupt each year needs to be stopped

Another party would just be more of the same given time (power and money)
I don't think any politican starts off the way they end up, they are allowed to grow into it. Term limits would change that quickly.

You may have locked it... by virtue of "the lesser of unbearable evils" but....

you haven't stopped talking yet... you still have time to make you less attractive than hillary.

I wanna be the NSA director appointee in your administration, Laz.

First thing I'll do is sick 'em on the politicians and public servants of every ilk. I wanna know where they are, what they do, where the money comes from and where it goes. And I wanna be able to post the results to the Press, the FBI and the Attorney General. Simultaneously.

The term "Public Official' should mean his doings 24/7 should be PUBLIC. The term 'Private Citizen' should mean 'constitutionaly protected'.

excellent hang.  I will make it so.

One minor problem... I don't really have money to pay for it.   You will have to do it for free.... you should be able to make it up by selling the dirt to the media tho.

You will have unlimited legal powers to spy on government officials who.... will also not be getting paid BTW.

He'll be able to afford it, cause I'm paying my Cabinet level appointees the going rate for the private sector. Kinda hard for a guy to listen to lobbyists when he's making 2-3 million per year already. Hang can save the money he makes as my Sec Def.

Laz, While it's mighty utopian of yah to not pay yer government employees and public servants.. you may be a bit surprised to discover that some of 'em actually do stuff that resembles work. Those folks need to eat, pay bills, raise kids 'n stuff.

It would be appropriate to institute an intant pay rate freeze.. and after you 'clean house' you can re-apportion pay consumerate with service. But to expect any man to work for free sounds a bit... 'socialist' and would not attract quality Public Servants.. after all, the only thing worse (or more dangerous) than an idealist in government is an unpaid one.

LOL.. MT.. hate to say it, but my idea of a good defense is a blistering offense. Anybody hanging about in a hostile world waiting to be attacked has lost already. Defense should be pro-active and necessarily overwhelming.  I suspect (edit: the executive branches of) about 12 countries would'nt exist more than 24 hours after I was sworn in. ;)

No problem, I will expect a few free rides in the RIO seat and maybe a cat launch or 2.

Not paying your people is just elitist thinking. Only the rich can hold office in that kind of system. I want the best and the brightest. I want geniuses to want a govt. job cause it pays so well. I want also to make all G-jobs performace based and I want to be able to fire their tulips when they don't deliver.
