Training suggestion...
« on: January 28, 2006, 01:27:34 AM »
Inspired by the "Strat bombing" thread on the GD forum...

How about getting some trainers for strat/tac? If a major complaint is guys who think they're "helping" by blowing through a furball to drop the FHs, and the largely mindless horde that make many of the old hands shake their heads, why not have trainers specializing in effective strat, including what to hit, when to hit, and HOW to hit it.

There can be "specialists" concentrating on fighter cover, jabbos, buffs, and troop delivery, including how to make it all effectively work together.

From everything I can tell the trainers in the TA are more or less dedicated to fighters, and from the couple times I went in it seems that bombing is disallowed to begin with.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

bombing isnt banned in TA, you just aren't allowed to bomb a1, the main training field. most people when they start out want to fly fighters, they find bombers too difficult. if anyone wants help with anything in there they usually get it. there are LOTS of people like myself and schatzi who aren't official trainers, but we hang about in there helping wherever we can.

its not that bombing help isnt offered, its just noobs dont want it

Bombers are relatively easy to fly once you get some altitude. I usually fly high and drop on some of the nme airfields in the TA. It'd be nice to talk to someone about WHERE to drop, and WHEN to up a buff and take out what needs to be taken out. The main problem I see in the MA is the lack of fighter cover, 1 fighter can really be effective in "baiting" a bunch of NME fighters away from the buffs! PS: To the TA guys, ya'll are amazing! Thanks for being so dedicated, regardless of if your official or not! Btw Poo, I sent you a PM. =)

Not so Saxman, I have on numerous times, especially back when it was the earlier version of the new Bombing system, for calibrating etc....took players and walked them thru the process of how to setup for a bombing run on both ingress and egress routes, how to calibrate and fly at proper speed, and to recal just before their final approach, and to bomb above at HIGH ALT and low alt ( low alt meaning below the wind layer).

If a player ask for any type of Training regardless of Fighters /Attack / Jabo, Bombing or CV /ships guns & Maneuvering to GV use & tanks, if they ask they get the help...........

as for trying to improve on the Training System of Aces High, why not cast your vote or opinion in the threads already started at the following links:

and encourage everyone to vote or comment on these topics, if you want to see a better improved Training Program.......

Thank You, ~S~
