I agree with the gap in planes statement. it's a real shame we don't have the 190A3 and the 190A6. that would have been much, much better in a scenario such as this. also (I can't believe I'm typing this) it also points to the need for additional early spits such as Vc and another submark IX. while their addition would make the LW's fight a little tougher it would on the whole make for a much better RPS, much more immersive and closer to actuality.
Only IX submark worth doing would have been the LF IX, but as the VIII subs quite nicely it's not needed.
HF IX is really not required.
What would be nice is the XII that was the first Griffon Spit used to chase down 190s from Mar 43.
So poss matchups (roughly)
190A3 - 1942 - F IX, F Vb / Vc
190A6 - 1943 - LF IX (VIII), LF Vc (old AH2 one), XII
Don't think the gap is early war (can't see need for Spit II etc), but mid war. i.e. 42 to end 43.
But this applies to the all the major planesets, they are heavily slanted to 1944/45.
Yup the 190 was a real shock when it appeared.
Always thought it ironic that the stopgap IX became (if you include the XVI) the most produced Spit.
Squad is going to start being regular vistors to the AvA now.
