What I love about RPS?

You can also tell how much of a problem the Focke Wolf 190 was to the British pilots when she was first introduced.. Vs the SpitVb, the 190A-5 is a handful. Faster, has a deadly gun package, and can split-s like a cheerleader on speed.

Love the historical fights!

Yeah it really is a blast.  It's fun to play out the Adolf Galland and Pips Priller fantasies.  At the same time, I'm kinda suprised by how much fun I've had flying RAF during this period - really gives you a new respect for guys like Johnnie Johnson that cut their teeth during this period.

The only thing that bothers me with this RPS is that there are quite large gaps in plane selections - enough to make a fully realistic RPS impossible.

This has meant that axis doesn't get any new planes for days while allied get several introduced.

But we have to make do with what we have.. better this way DEFINATELY.

I agree with the gap in planes statement.  it's a real shame we don't have the 190A3 and the 190A6.  that would have been much, much better in a scenario such as this.  also (I can't believe I'm typing this) it also points to the need for additional early spits such as Vc and another submark IX.  while their addition would make the LW's fight a little tougher it would on the whole make for a much better RPS, much more immersive and closer to actuality.

Definately realizing the improvements one plane had over another, and seeing it play out.

The Seafire IIc should be sub'd for the Spit Vc.

I've always thought the game needed the earlier versions of the FW-190. Maybe with TOD coming, and if the AvA arena keeps going strong we'll see some of the planes that would enhance these arenas.  I'm not a Spit expert
by any means. It seems we have enough Spits as it is now. Is it possible
the Seafire could possibly sub for any missing early spits up to the MkIX?
I'd like to see maybe the P-36, and Detowine , and any other French planes that could be added to the 39/40 stable.

amen, it's a real eyeopener especially when you don't have the combination of spitIXs and spitVs working you over.

You sure can! I really enjoy the RPS also, but like the rest of you we really need more AC to choose from.  I will be glad when HTC is done with their current project, not only for that, but then (I hope) they will continue working on new AC.

Only IX submark worth doing would have been the LF IX, but as the VIII subs quite nicely it's not needed.
HF IX is really not required.

What would be nice is the XII that was the first Griffon Spit used to chase down 190s from Mar 43.

So poss matchups (roughly)
190A3 - 1942 - F IX, F Vb / Vc
190A6 - 1943 - LF IX (VIII), LF Vc (old AH2 one), XII

Don't think the gap is early war (can't see need for Spit II etc), but mid war. i.e. 42 to end 43.
But this applies to the all the major planesets, they are heavily slanted to 1944/45.

Yup the 190 was a real shock when it appeared.
Always thought it ironic that the stopgap IX became (if you include the XVI) the most produced Spit.

Squad is going to start being regular vistors to the AvA now.

Absolutely. It annoys me that the P51D is allowed as non perked in the MA. It wasn't availablei n bubble canopy form with 6 x .5's till very late, same performance as Spit 14, Tempest.

The fact it takes a skilled pilot to fly it well is neither here nor there. The same goes for the other perked planes.

Anyway. A vA is answer to my dreams even though I struggl with the 109F, it's so much more immersive to fly historical planesets.
