and make him straiten out his upper arm so it is flush with the deck. also, the forearm should be at a 45 degree angle and the middle finger touches the edge of the right eyebrow rather than over the eyebrow like the one you posted.

if he doesnt have a hat on then the tip of his finger should touch the corner of his eyebrow..duhh...also that navy illustration clearly shows a cupped hand when in fact the hand should be as rigid as possible..than again its a navy guy (hippy)
