I have noticed that in time with my X-52 (as well as my other sticks) in time all seem to begin to get "sticky" where the collar under the spring slides up and down the metal shaft of the joystick. This creates a jerkiness that can really be seen when in a GV trying to aim. I would think that some form of lubrication would be beneficial here but have no idea what to use that would either not dry out or gum things up. I tried a drop of drops of fishing reel oil once on my Sidewinder and it freed up instantly for a little while, but I was afraid to use to much oil not knowing what would happen if it started running down inside the controls. Any ideas about a lubricant (I already ruled out K-Y Jelly for you smart guys )

My old X45 had that problem, I never used any lubricant on it. What you might try to do, is get a birthday candle and rub it all around the little circle disc thingy. That helped with mine.

I saturated a Q-tip with silicon spray lubricant and rubbed it around on the disk.

Used to use Remington Rem-DriLube on my X45, it worked great.
