kratzer - it's the spanking new politically correct phrase they cooked up to desribe moslem women that wear that thing on their head. i had to listen closely because i thought he was saying 'women of color' biut that's part of the effeciveness of the new term - it is similar to an existing pc phrase with all kinds of existing meaning and social baggage.

also - i think i agree with whoever said - his remarks were better than his statement. i am lumping it inaccurately when i say i liked his speech. each answer was like a mini-speech and i guess that's what i mean  :)

i dsidnt watch his responses to reporters, so i cant comment on that. for me, it was so painful to watch the opening statement that i switched to the gatech football game. you guys say you dont want a slick person, but as the representative of the us people i would like our president to come off as being intelligent. if our leader isn't that bright, what does it say about the rest of us?? my sister's valedictory address from high school really was better delivered than any speech i have seen bush deliver so far, and to me that is disconcerting, policy or no policy.

dont get me wrong he has done a good job handling this crisis so far, but IMO the leader of the free world should be an exceptional orator.

I love the thought process:

If someone is inteligent and articulate: he's a liar with an agenda.

If someone is a simpleton with lack of basic vocabulary: he's honest.

I love you guys  :) You provide so much entertainment...  :D

Hehhehhe.. yah we need Steve Martin back in his pointy hat for the 'duration of this crisis."

That'll put the fear of God in those heratic bastards.

 ;)

p.s. I'm glad the Poles are finding us entertaining. We owe 'em for all those unwarranted and uncouth polish jokes we got to enjoy at their expense over the years.

LOL Cobra!

I posted before that the last election that both left and right 'held their noses when they went to the booth'...but I am pleasantly surprized at the job Mr.Bush is doing.  Better than I thought. An intelligent guy that lies is certainly scarier than a guy not as intelligent and is faith based, but hey, thats MY opinion.

Zigrat

go have a coffee/conversation with a local car salesman then go do the same with your average policeman or fireman. Tell me who speaks better. Tell me who you trust more. Speaking perfectly is not a requirement of a good leader, honesty & honor ranks much higher in my book. Nor is it a sign of overall intelligence. At least Bush knows what "is" is...

Hope none of you guys sell cars for a living   :)

I assume you are implying Clinton here.

If you are, I would strike that "intelligent" statement from that line.

Not only was he having problems with what sex means, he has problems with other basic words in the English vocabulary.

He had to have them defined by congress. He thought he was slick, most other Americans thought he was a maroon.

*sigh*

Squabble; squabble; squabble.

Slick Willie is HISTORY.

The Bozo driving the bus now is not unexpectedly a bozo driving the bus. As long as it looks like he knows where he's goin, and we're on the way to the right place; it don't matter which bozo is driving the bus.

So, fer chrissakes, just sit down, shut up and hold on. We'll get there.

Hang, I firmly believe Bush is as equally a maroon as Clinton was.

But, he's our leader for now. And now we're at war, so it just makes more sense to back him and trust he will do things right.
