fair enough i guess.
great speech as in - it was effective in coming across as real to me the listener.
i don't really want someone who's too good at the 'craft' of rhetoric. i turn off the speaker as a rainmaker as soon as they start 'feeling my pain' and defining what 'is' is....
your apparant position on leadership models reminds me of some of the hiring policies at a company i used to work for:
we'd just hire the slickest most charasmatic people who knew the latest industry buzzwords, had the most polished physique, luxury condo in the appropriate part of town, rode the little stupid scooter, had an office full of toys, wore trendy technicolor clothes and took everyone else who mattered to the best lunch spot. little wonder they couldn't change a lightbulb much less run a company.
i like having a real person there who sweats, cries and breathes heavy when he's stressed over a slick master of rhetoric who looks like a plastic model regardless of the situation.

it's not a sign of weakness, it's a sign that he's a human!

he gave specifics and seemed genuine, often giving his impressions and insights rather than the psychologist approved positive attitude roadkill pep talk he could have given- who cares about the technical side of it ....ingle use analogies, cadence, hand language blah blah blah - he just spoke his mind and i like that.
we are in a new era where we'd better cut the roadkill to a minimum, he's the right leader for that and i'm proud i voted for him despite how trendy it is to hate him and his father among the cool crowd.
i realize he is trying to paint bin ladin as a neanderthal with all the cave refernces and so on but that's probably the way he really feels about the guy so i can't be too critical of that spin. maybe you could give him a new metaphor zigrat.
