Ahh, still bitter eh? Hehe, well, rest assured, if they had cast out all the "Dead People" votes, and convicts, it would have been a sweep both popular vote and electorial.  ;)

oh p'shaw....

his detractors couldn't find a better angle than to pick on his 'texasness' because people equate 'down-hominess' with stupid.

his 'stupidity' is another media creation, i mean here's a guy who went to harvard AND yale, can fly a f-105 thunderchief, acted as a ceo of a major company, acted as governor and now president. how bout you!?

still there's some genious at a cell phone sales booth in the mall calling bush stupid in between his "excuse me sir, i'd like to tell you about an exciting special offer" pitches. yeah...lol  :)

i know the line about - well his money got him thru school etc but a lot of those people saying that didnt even go to school themselves so they really don't know 'what it takes'. i love it when peeople who've never sweated over a calculus III exam sit around talking about how easy college is from their lofty perch in front of the tube.

besides can you imagine being scrutinized by the world for any slip up like he is? he fielded those questions with all the right answers and made news for the reporters at the same time.

don't believe the hype or better yet - state something he has done that is stupid instead of just launching into accusations. lets have specific cases otherwise you're just following the herd and regurgitating packaged opinion - and that's a yawner.

Somebody give this man a cigar!

Nice Post, I'm with ya.

BTW, one of our greatest Presidents, who kept the union together thru a civil war was also a VERY awkward fella. His voice pitched from one tone to another, he was a head taller than anyone else, walked funny, and his face, well, you've seen it.

Abraham Lincoln was very awkward, but one of our greatest.

(of course, I'm from Alabama, so I'm supposed to dislike him, but I can't bring myself to it.  :))

Sorry can't let this one fly  :D

If your daddy was a millionare, you could go to Yale and Harward.

In case you've never been to any of the finer schools of this country, here it how it works:
part of students are rich kids, who pay overblown tuition so that it can pay for poor talented kids. Communism at its best..

Flew F105 eh? Funny that noone seems to remember him even serving with the unit....

Acted as a CEO ? Company went bancrupt in case you didn't notice..

And his governor job in Texas, i can't comment on, but i wouldn't be suprized if he had a corporate-brains-for-hire running the show for him then just as he does now..

Wuflie - i made no such suggestion. You're the one who did.
You would have to be very naive to think that "judgement of American people" proves Bush to be even in a range of Clinton, brainpower wise.

Just because he liked to screw around, doesn't make him stupid, makes him weak. But if you wanna talk weaknesses, let's talk alcohol and drugs, shell we ?

I don't know where that came from. Simply looking at Clinton's track record will prove exactly how poor of a president he was.

No, the fact that he lied about screwing around makes him stupid. Then the hundred pages of "could you define this word for me" makes him even stupider.

If you think that alchohol or drugs makes someone weak, toejam... I guess that 90% of the human population is weak.

Nevermind the fact that they are used very rarely, you obviously dodge that. Simply using them makes you weak, right?

Man, must be a heavy weight holding you down because you are so "strong".

Strength is subjective, I could define real strength to you. There are people very strong, a lot stronger than you, that like to have a drink or smoke a little dope- but I guess that makes them weak... well to you anyway.

the guy my aunt married was from a rich missouri family. his father and his father went to yale and more importantly were huge contributing alumni - he graduated in '68 but only barely.

the reality is that your rich daddy can get you in - but everyone there comes from a rich daddy - you still have to make the grade on your own and under tremendous pressure. there is a pride there and you have to succeed on your own...keep in mind, regardless of how you got there you will  still emerge with a great education and money doesnt automatically get you that.

the entire oil industry went under not just bush - do you think whitewater was a sound "intelligent" investment?

How bout:

Mr. Clinton, have you smoked marijuana?

Yes, er uhh, but I didn't inhale!

At least Bush was smart enough to say when asked if he'd used illegal drugs, "it's none of your business", and the issue faded away despite the media trying to make it look like he was hiding something.

Now I feel like I'm Clinton bashing, which I try not to do. Just trying to point out that people who appear intelligent are really just smooth talkers. I mean, getting a hummer in the oval office was very stupid. The room where JFK conducted business during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Bill is getting his cookies off with some 20 yr old girl.

[sarcasm]but mrfish, the money can buy you the grade!  Don't you know that ALL professors are greedy and will give you an A for money![/sarcasm]

Money just pays the tuition people.  It doesn't get you INTO the school and it definitely doesn't MAKE your grades.  It might get a few professors to give you a good grade, but others would have your bellybutton thrown out of school in a heartbeat, regardless of who your daddy is.

Now I will admit that some colleges and/or universities will go easy on some individuals and groups to get them through if it serves the college's agenda.  I've seen it happen first hand.  It wasn't about money from the alumni or the student's parents though...

mrfish, why'd you have to bring up Calc III?  *shudders*  that was the most heinous final I've ever had...

actually, my ODE prof was a LOT nicer on the final than my Calc III prof.  There were 5 questions on my Calc III final.  ONE person got ONE question right, and that was my roommate.  lol.

I got the Calc III prof again for Linear Algebra, and I was deathly afraid of the final.  Turned out to be a breeze.   :)
