I don't remember the specific year. It was a 60 something GTO, still have it too.

On second thought, I'm pretty sure its a 67.

68 Chevelle

Crap green dull paintjob
Interiour was immaculate though...was
Stock 307 w/quadrajet carb

But. I literally bought it from a little old lady who only used to drive it 5 miles to work every day and once a year down the shore. (my buddies Grandmother)
And who took it to the dealer for everything she ever had done to it and had the records to prove it.

Had exactly 58,000 original miles on it
Picked it up for $150 back in 1978

Ohhh the memories that car brings back

Had it 4 years before one day I'm blasting down the road pedal to the metal when all of a sudden all within the span of about 4 seconds.
The oil light came on,  and the engine went
RAP RAP RAP RAP  BOOM!!
Death is no easy answer
For those who wish to know
Ask those who have been before you
What fate the future holds
It ain't pretty

When I was a sophomore in high school: 68 Falcon Station Wagon, 200ci inline 6 with 3 speed standard and rubber floor mats.
Next year, I bought a 67 Mustang GT.
Next year, I bought a 69 Road Runner.

I was the only kid in high school with 3 cars, all paid for by me.  None were stock after I got through with them.  The Falcon got the 289 from the Mustang after my sister borrowed it and blew the 6, then I built another 289 engine for the Mustang, and the Road Runner engine was rebuilt with goodies as well.

Dad owned an auto parts store, so I used to get all my performance parts for cost.  I grew up around racers.  Don Garlitts used to hang around my Dad's store and park his rail on the corner just outside the door of the place when he came to town to race.

Dad was a hot rodder as well.  He had a 54 Ford flathead V8 chopped and lowered.  It was a beautiful car and fast.  Him and his best friend were always racing against each other, trying to see who could be the fastest from week to week.

I miss those days.   Cars were fun to work on and the tricks you could do to get a little more power seemed endless.
