Jeep Request
« on: March 20, 2006, 04:46:27 PM »
Any Chance of getting a 5 troop loadout for the new Jeep?

That would more accurately represent its most common use (i.e. troop transport), and give us the capacity to capture a field with a jeep raid (i.e. "Rat Patrol") :)

I'd say 2 troops.  The troop capacity has always been set by gameplay balance, not historical capacity.  Hence the M3, LVT and C-47 all carry 10 troops.

2 troops per jeep would seem like a balanced, fun thing to set it to.  Require five jeeps to be successful.  Take ten and you're likely to make it with at least five.

Karnak,

Ok, can we split the difference and settle on 4 which was a comfortable combat load? That way you'd still need at least 3 Jeeps to capture.

Any chance of this happening in the next bug fix?

IMO Loads 4, but drops 2.  Need a driver and a gunner.  Or else you lose the gun if you carry troops, then you could load more.

I agree with the request but 5 is too much... 2 or 4 would be better...

3

2 in the back, 1 up front, 4th guy is driver and stays in the vehicle.

Front guy should have a sub machine gun, ie Bren, thompson.
Back 2 guys man & load the .50.

Alright then, but at least we are agreed that a vehicle designed to transport troops should be able to transport troops.

I'll leave it up to HT to decide how many.

Otherwise I'm predicting a rather quick relegation to the "most useless" bin occupied by AH2 items such as the Boston.
