;)  I knew that when I posted it.  I cut that from the Boeing website, i took the whole paragraph, lest some think I was doing selective editing.  I copy the warts and all.

I think that particular site was just trying to show all the designations the C-47 has had during its long career.

I've start building my book references/collection the last two years because websites are really starting to be a problem.   Everybody copies from somebody else and alot of incorrect information get spread around, taken out of context.   a few years ago I was searching online for some plane data, I think it was the A-26.  I found at least 4 different websites, 1 or 2 professional and 2 or so those AOL type freebi websites.  They all had the exact same information, to the letter, word for word, quote for quote.

Books arent awhole lot better sometimes.
I have "Fork Tailed Devil, The P38" by Martin Caidin first printed 1971, mines from 2001 reprint.  So far its good book.   I also have a book "Classic WWII Aviation series" called "Lockheed P-38 Lightning" by Terry Treadwell.
[part of the reason I bought it is because we have the same last name]

I would swear reading "Lockheed P-38 Lightning" that I read exactly the same words and quotes in Martin Caidin's book.  Not the whole book just certain passages.  Maybe so much as been written about the P-38 that it maybe impossible to write anything new about this plane.

and now I forgot where I was going with this so I'll just quit here and eat...
