It is still too slow at FTH... The numbers posted in the original bug report showed a calculated speed of 416 mph. I have seen other sources showing this same top speed. I was expecting more in the range of 410-415 mph...
This patch was an improvement over the original release but it is still not 'correct'.
Also, please add the option for 200 rounds of MG151/2cm for the G-14 and G-6...

Back on topic, what Bruno said. From Robert Michulec's Me109 Part 2:
Quote
(with MW50) take-off rating of the engine rose to 1.800hp, which in turn gave an output of 1.240hp and a top speed of about 630Km/h at 6.600mt. Using the MW50 injection it was possible to increase the power output to 1.700hp for about 30 minutes at an altitude of 5.000mt which gave additional 35Km/h. Using this mixture above 5.000mt was not possible becouse of the limited range of operation of the supercharger in DB605 A/AM engines.

It makes indeed about 415-416mph at about 16.500ft ... so the G-14 seems still underpowered at rated altitude. I'll test as soon as the wifeack will disengage me ... ;)

Now this is interesting.

Version 2.07 has a built-in-game speed/climb rate chart which can be viewed from the hangar. This 'official' HTC chart states that the Bf109G-14 has a top speed of about 406mph or so.

In other words, it looks like this isn't a case of a bug or a minor error, but rather HTC made their judgement that the dataset they chose will represent the Bf109G-14 as having 406mph of top speed, period.

 ...

Better get ready with some really really heavy amount of proof material, LW experts... seems like if people can't decisively prove and convince HTC that the Bf109G-14 should be faster than it is now, the 406mph cap might stay on for a long, long time.

The 1944 Bf109G-14 that we have in the game, has the same maximum speed as the 1942 Bf109G-2, albeit at a lower alttitude!

 Now that's porked!

I thought I had given reasonable sources in my original bug report:

Fth - 109g-14

568 km/h (553 mph) 1740ps  --- Emergency Power SL
665 km/h (413 mph) 1700ps  --- Emergency Power 5,000m (16400 ft)

Right now its 7 to 10 mph to slow at FTH but I am not complaining, at least it didn't get worse :p
