Not even close. Right or wrong, Jane Fonda was an activist.
I don't know Sheehan's real story (and I don't much care), but I suspect that she completely supported her son's decision to join the Army. When he returned home in a box, rather than grieve she wanted vengeance and someone to blame. The liberals, correct or not, told her the things that she wanted to hear. She discovered that she was given a voice and the media put her on television and printed her words. She's trapped. She's addicted to the attention and as long as she plays the victim, she'll get a little more. At least until the media and the right grows bored enough with her antics to ignore her.
Sheehan isn't an activist. She's a noisey soccer mom with delusions of victimhood.
The fifteen minutes are up. She needs to shut her damn mouth, sit her fat bellybutton down and grieve.
Then... move the hell on. I could quite happily spend the rest of my life without ever seeing her puffy eyes and runny nose on television again.
One more thing... Sarandon is indeed one sexy woman.
