Changes today:
- we've upped the ChangeCountryTime to 30 minutes. Keep in mind that when you change countries, that you cannot change again for another 30 minutes.
- we've upped the field capture to 15 troops. It's to avoid field porkers.

and have a great day.:D

I checked in early this morning - just in case - and found the arena had been porked again.  So:  I upped the base capture to 25 troops.

This particular setup seems to be attracting folks who just don't get the message that you can't win the war here.  We're open to suggestions as to how to prevent this arena porking.

Just keep adding the amount of troops until it stops. Or maybe lower the down times a bit. I wish they'd quit the porking. I think the ability to capture bases adds to the arena by encouraging missions that actually have objectives other then just furballing or porking a base.
But porking the map needs to stop.

Can you just turn off base capture during non peak hours or is that not possible?

The last staffer out at night could turn off the light, and the first one up in the morning could turn it on, but I don't think we can guarantee this kind of coverage.  So far as I know, it isn't possible to set a timer.

I know you guys usually check in around 10:30 or so EST each night. You might just make an announcement that base capture is getting turned off for the night. Then have a guy turn it back on sometime in the morning. Maybe do this on wekdays only, and leave it  on for the weekends.
Or maybe just a dailey 12 hour downtime for captures each day.

Usually by the time you guys check in for the last time each night, everything is winding down , and most capture attempts have been made.
Of course these are just my observations, somebody in California or the Pacific may be just getting ready to fly.

why not just up the troops?  it makes it possible for a group working in harmony to capture and creates the basis for some potentially good fights.  try 30 troops to see if that works.  3 guys in goons means at least 6 guys in the fight.  more opprtunity for defenders.

I don't understand you staffers' logic.  at times you make it impossible by not enabling goons and M3s at other times you make it rediculously easy.  try the middle of the road just once.  you may find that all will like it.

- Which is why we went from 10 troops to 15.
- Which is why we disabled the B-26.
- Which is why we changed the time to switch sides to 30 minutes.
- Which is why we try and try but there are some guys who just don' t get it.

Because they can, and we are powerless to stop them.  We try mitigating the chances of someone porking the arena, but we often are forced into reaction mode because we believe the inherent nature of our players are to be cooperative instead of destructive.

why not just destroy all barracks at forward fields?

can you leave objects destroyed?

Thanks, Furball.  I think that barracks will ultimately regenerate, although you could probably extend the time to do so.

On this map, the main problem is that, because of carriers, there really aren't any "forward" fields.  Any field can suddenly become the forward field, and you can float one along with you, too.

Speaking of MOTD...would itr be possible to state country affiliations
"up front" in the MOTD so that one does not have to guess which
country to change to? This seems to be something prudent to do in
light of discussions above related to increasing the "can_change_countries"
time limits.

To make certain object indestructable it is possible to raise the damage needed to destroy them way up, is it not?
If so, make the city hard to destroy so it takes several bomb hits or thousands of bullets to kill a town building. Capture will bw possible but takes a lots of effort and heavy bombing sorties.

I say we monitor the arena and see who's porking it. Then we can tar and feather them and run them outta town on a rail.

After we boil them in oil of course.
