Raider I really don't get some of your points/posts.

The Citation X (ten) will go supersonic in level flight in flight test.  It's Mmo is .92M on the line.  G550's aren't far behind.  They both can get to 51,000ft.

I don't work for the VIP transport wing at Andrews but I'm sure that Air Force One and it's sister ships have plenty of equipment on board to detect and decoy missile threats.  If it doesn't...I'll pick up the tab since it protects the occupant of our nations highest office.  Sound good?

I just didn't thing a 7 4 could go supersonic I always thought it was a slow lumbering whale cuase thats what the UPS 747 looks like climbing out of DFW

You don't normally get to see them in cruise.  There's a 250kt speed limit below 10,000ft.  This can be waived for safety reasons because of size/weight considerations.  The fastest you'll ever see a 74 below 10 is on the order of 280kts and that's on departure.

It's second hand information but I was told by the TRACON guys here in Columbus that 747s have something on the order of 8º nose up in level flight at 250kts.

Many planes could go super sonic, but those are not certified or built to do that. The shape doesn't favor super sonic speeds and there would be a HUGE increase to fuel and maintenance costs.

those jumpseat privileges were just at the Gates got 2 look around those tiny 737 cockpits and I need t o my handle on here to Raider15 but I don't wanna lose all my post
