Can you drop 2 hangers with 1 salvo from a B17/B24 when your flying in from a oblique angle?

if you can where do you aim and what is the salvo setting? with 1000 lb's

if the hangars are close together, drop a few bombs out right inbetween them, and you'll get them with the blast radius. it'll probably take a 3 bomb salvo though. better to just line up your run on the map and take each hangar out individually:aok

3 1k bombs salvoed tight will do it.

As will the 4k bomb from the lancaster.

Drop dead center between the 2 hangers.

On my old map: Dogwar01, if you dropped a 2,000 pound bomb right inbetween the fighter hangars. They would blow. All you needed is to drop 1 2,000 pound bomb from a formation, and it would go BOOM.

but you probably didnt have default hardness settings.

it will need more than a normal salvo, you will need to put more than 4000lbs in between the hangars, so drop 2 bombs from each bomber if you're using 1000lbers:aok

heres another tip, don't use 1000lbers, take the 500lber option. If your in a 3 buff formation just take 500's, everytime you drop your dropping 1500lbs vs. 3000lbs. Certain objects take 4,000lbs worth of damage. That means if you have the 1000lber option you will have to make 2 drops and waste a good 2,000lbs worth of ord. If you were to take the 500lb option you can make 3 drops and hit with 4,000lbs exactly. Basically its just a better option to take. Certain targets only need 500lbs of ord to destroy as well. To me, taking the 1000lb option is just a waste of ordinance, only time I ever take the big bombs are if I'm in a dive  bomber or hvy fighter. Another thing, I never even mess with my salvo or delay settings, just set your salvo to 1 that way you can make 3 drops allot faster vs. a delayed salvo. the shortest delay you can use is .5 a second, which for the most part means, only 2 of your bombs will hit because it takes 1.5 seconds for that 3rd salvo to drop from the time you release. Just set it to 1 and click release 2-3 times real fast.... way easier to use

Actually iceman default for delay is 0.05  not .5

So if you set salvo to 3 you can get 3 bombs down in .45 hundreths of a second.

Second, there are a lot of cases where using salvo  and delay can help quit a bit.

Especially when hitting area targets like city's.

As to the 1000 lb bombs, well they do have their uses.

Especially for sinking Carriers.

Granted the 500's are more effecient in some situations.

wow your right, I totally misread the salvo on my screen, I really thought it said .5 LOL    yes I did forget about cities and factories, salvo works good there. your probably right about using the 1000lbers on cv's as well, I don't think I have ever even tried dropping them on a cv in level bombers, I'm usually in a stuka or hvy jug or something, or messing around trying to lead torpedos from JU88's  :) Anyway thanks for setting me straight on the correct delay time
