Rooks...WTF!

I really dont see the point of us rooks having carriers on H20/Island maps....We get a ship within 10 miles of an enemy air base, and tons of calls are made over country channel by the three or four rooks actually attempting to attack/take the base that we need more help and they all go unanswered!....So whats the point of having cv's?  Everyone is to freaking buisy furballing at A3-A4, when we have carriers in perfect striking positions..its very annoying......

I say if we dont start using our carriers, lets just stop defending our ports because all these boats are good for is a tease

They need to toughen up the ships. Make it so it takes a huge amount of damage to sink it. Make it so you can bomb the guns of of it, but to sink it you need torps. Make torp damage very high and worth the effort. Something like 10 torp hits. If the CV damage was at 50,000 make each torp do 5000 damage each.

That way battles could last longer, and torpedo strikes would be fun.

Sigh.

Some like to fight, some like to take bases, some like to do both.

Nothing like a carrier attack for good fights, though...very short time from wheels up to engagement....

I'd say just chill a bit and enjoy the game. If you get that PO'd at others, its not much fun for you and its not fun for those around you!

I am surprized that you are even going there. Your annoyed that others are playing the game the way they want to and are having fun ... strange.

actually, that torp idea is pretty good.  It cuts down on the sucide bombers and strafers.

A bigger selection of Navy planes would probably help pique interest in carriers, too.

Carrier-modified Mitchell bombers would be a good start.

Devestators, too.

Brewster Buffalo.

On top of making carriers harder they also have to make a barrier either coad or terrain that will not allow the carrier to pull right up to the base and park.

The combination of the two would make the whole sea game a magnitude better.

As for Cav - Give me a break people too busy furballing... You gotta be cheeseing me.

The only problem I have with the CVs is that they are mainly used as floating 5 inch platforms.  If the CVs had to stay say.. 15 miles away from the coast (far enough away that it'd be better to fly to the enemy base than sit in a 5 inch gun and lob area effect shells at friendlies hoping for easy kills) than you might get some good fights.

As it is you get 2-3 guys  that up, then die, then sit in the 5 inch guns holding the trigger down.

Exactly!  I think they should have a limit to how close they can come to shore.
