the guy in that vid must have the loosest face in the world.... sport bikes are quicker and faster and I have ridden them without a helmet and never had that reaction.... it is downright freaky....

You can buy "kit car" cobras right now that will beat that car for power to weight....it is possible to have a 2400 cobra kit car with 1200 hp that really is street legal.   You can have more HP even that that in a brand new 69 Camaro.

I don't see how the atom is much different than a lotus 7 with a real engine in it.   friends lotus makes 200 hp.   could make more supercharged.

The problem with that car is that it is a new engine in a new frame and they are trying to get around the regs by making it a kit car.... lots are doing that but this one is really in your face.... it is a slap in the face to the buerocrats and they will go all "assault weapons ban" on kit cars becuase of cars like this.

My car has a 1955 title so I won't be affected but.... the writing is on the wall for avoiding regulations with "kit" cars using all new components.

Soon as they regester that car as a 2006 civic.... it will have to meet all regulations for safety and smog...

When that happens it will weigh 3000 lbs and cost 60k  and they will have to submit 4 of em a year for crash testing.

We have shifter go carts that are faster than that car right now.  Should we just call em "kit cars"?  same concept..

The Us version would be better off with the SRT-4 engine with the 300 hp.
The Cobalt engine just don't cut it.

Why have they removed the Supercharged Type-R engine? My car is super-charged and it's the best sound in the world. :)

There is an option for the US version to use the SC Cobalt engine.

no dred.... he raced a 600 cc sportbike and even that accelerated faster than the car.... I was saying that I have ridden bikes faster than either the sport bike in the vid or the atom and they never did that crap to my face.

The guy has some serious face muscle problems.

BAH. Going fast means nothing except higher insurance rates.
Ask me how I know. :(
Now put about a 14" lift and some 33" Super Swampers on it and I'd drive it. :D

Actually if I had a spare 35,000 laying around I'd buy one.
