Most farmers are'nt wheat farmers on the great plains....
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

It's pretty much the same for crop farmers anywhere there's a cold, cold winter.

Tough to do much farming when the ground is frozen.

The globe has a long history of farting animals.
Ruminants actually fart much less methane if they are fed with more grass (which they are made for) and less grain.
But again, to the same point, grain feeding is economically more effective, so the products are often cheaper. (intensive farming).

Anyway, 1st of may = busy farmday for most on the Northern hemisphere.

And most of crop farmers don't take all day to take care of the animal husbandry they do.

It's why they go elk hunting for two weeks in the fall. It's why the go pheasant hunting any day they want to in the fall. It's why it's not a full time job in the fall/winter...even for those that are not pure crop farmers.

Ehhh, Toad:

"And most of crop farmers don't take all day to take care of the animal husbandry they do.

Any animal husbandry that includes full care means full care, around the year. The classical one is dairy farming. Want a break? Hire somebody to do the job, if there is anyone to be found.
Same goes to any animal being fed, birth control etc.
That is before you begin with things like harvesting and those...

Somehow, I think you do not know the subject too well.
