Anyone else noticing weird, non-connect related stuff lately?

Last night had a sortie with a collision that I cant explain. Briefly, at the end of a postiional fight came nose on to a bad guy. He collided with me (per the message), and I got no corresponding collsion message. I presume he shot me, because I lost my empennage and slowly fluttered towrd the ground. Meanwhile, he flew away apparently still under power. Weird thing was, when i hit the ground I got the "you have crashed" message but no "killed by" message.

So, did he shoot? He was 5K off when I hit, so out of proxy range. We were the only two around. I suppose the field ack may have hit me exactly as we passed, but the odds seem long. ANy ideas?

Tonight had some weird, new math after a sortie in which I killed a tempest in a 163. At the time, the Tempest cost for me was 43, and the 163 was 41 or 43. The multiplier was 1.3. Somehow, I got 4.4 perks.

Any thoughts?

I have been experiencing a bit of "weird" lately myself.

Yesterday I got a proxi-kill. This happened about 2 minutes after I logged, while in the tower...weird thing? It was on a country mate.

On the weekend i was flying a Spit 14 (perk plane of course) Lost a fight, got shot down and augered HARD near an enemy base, and got a "You have landed successfully" message as I was popped back into the tower. I didnt lose the perk points either.

The last bit o' weird i can remember is being over an enemy field, and a squadmate that had got shot down spawned...on the enemy field. This was also seen by another squadmate in the air over the same field at the time. As the squaddie rolled about 100 feet on the runway taking off..his plane then dissapeared. As far as I know..he had no idea of this happenig and he saw himself taking off from our country's field.

(shrug) Im gonna go with an SOB explanation here..infestation of demons.

Hehe, I was strat running this morning in an osty and was shot at by a building. I assume it was a (not yet destroyed) building, that's where the tracers were coming from.
Had squadies icons (on key-up) appear at bases the weren't at.
Other such weirdness too.

I was getting shot at tonight by a nuked refinery. Nothing up in the city, but tracers were coming at me from under a bridge. I went down low to see if there was a GV, but there wasn't.

I actually spawed onto a enemy runway the other night. was in the tower when the base was taken but it still allowed me to get on the runway and take off. Wish I could've seen the looks on those guys faces LOL.

Field ack didnt engage me either as I took off.

im thinking it might be this map.....been haveing alot of connection problems, and for the first time in a year been getting discoed since this maps been running......sometimes i see 30k ghost planes also, or mabey a enemy dot on radar but no enemy.

Not really, docc. When we passed he had a guns solution, so I wouldnt be surprised if he shot. Also, I was at 800 or so not far from the base ack -- so while it would be a coincidence for the ack to hit me, it wouldnt be impossible at all. He was extending out of the fight, so I'm betting he had some damage from his collision.

The only weird thing was that he got no kill credit, and that would be completely correct IF the ack got the kill and he was 6k away.

In my experiences ack was not a factor (was not within 10k of any fields or gvs). If he had shot at you and pinged you (at any time), you would have got the 'killed by' message after the 'he collided with you' message. If a manned ack got you or if anyone was in a manned ack at that field (manned ack gets the proxie kill), you would have gotten a 'killed by' message. So either you lost pieces of your plane and crashed because of a collision caused by and blamed on someone else, or one of those highly inaccurate AI field acks got you. He probably had slight damage, but engines are a lot stronger than tails in the game.

Did you hear a hit? If not it was the collision on his front end that caused your problem; if so it could be either the collision or ack. But the same circumstances have happened to me at least 3 times with no ack around.
