Vietnam wasn't a war, it was a "police action". War was never declared.

WW2 was the last and only honourable war (ie. fought for the right reasons). It was also a World War, as an Englishman, I have no interest in the two conflicts you have mentioned and as the AH community is global, interest would I feel be low.

That's funny. I was thinking to myself just today...."I wonder if HTC is thinking about other game ideas?" A WWI flight sim would be perfect for the "purists" who only want to furball & not be bothered by anything else like buffs dropping hangars.

Strange though...Vietnam never came to mind...not a whole lot of dogfighting. On the other hand a Korea era sim could be cool.

You've got to be kidding me. There is no honor in war, only the ones who survived & the ones who didn't.

WWI, that would be cool. Korea, they would only really have to add the F-86 and MiG-15 to impliment.

Vietnam- why??? Jets, SAMs, A2A missiles, refueling, airborne radar, choppers... shudder... no thank you.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

tinman...I disagree...Seeing as HTC is an American corporation with a majority of American players I think support for a korea/vietnam arena would be extremely high...But I see where you are coming from.  I would have absolutely no interest in a "falkland islands" campaign =)

Plenty of Brits in Korea. As a matter of fact, the British Royal Marines 41st Royal Marine Commando Battalion attatched to the 1st MarDiv in 10th Corp was the only unit to perform to the same level as (and in some respects above) the US Marine units. Lieutenant Colonel Douglas Drysdale was CO of 41 Commado, and was an extremely capable leader, and the US Marines were very happy to have him and his men there.

Tell that to the thousands of Vietnamese, Americans, French, and various others who died there over a 30 year period. I honestly dont think it was a place we should have been, but saying it wasnt a real war is just nitpicking the details. I think it was real enough for everyone who fought there.

Dude, they aint my details and I mean no disrespect to anyone who fought there, but neither the Korean nor Vietnam conflicts were declared "Wars".

Anyway, we're sliding away from the subject and it's entirely my fault for bringing up politics, I apologise for any offence.

HT tried a WW1 game at ICI. Didn't do all that well. And with the lower rates of closure it'd just be a slo-mo-HO-fest.

Korean era jets would be an excercise in frustration for too many people.

Personally I think the entire 1939-1941 part of the war could be brought up a notch - were it not for the fact that the MA is so focused on the late war uber rides. Get some I-16's and Ki-43's twirling about.

WWII is enough era for 3 games (early - mid- late).

So you are saying that America had no right to stop the communist from converting the south?  Dictatorship is good?

Actually, don't answer that.  Instead answer this:  Are you saying that no country declared war during Vietnam or Korea?  Samsung is in south korea, imagine if we never went to Korea.
Time's fun when you're having flies.
