would u like some cheese w/ that whine?
« on: May 20, 2006, 10:52:02 PM »
Ok im getting a little fed up with all the complaining about the spit16's and how they should be perked. Its a great plane all around but in my personal opinion it doesnt have any characteristics that are so superior that it should be perked. I flew it abit when it first came out just like everyone else I dont fly it anymore because its to easy for me to kill 16s with my spit8 o doom:), and I hate being killed by 16s just as bad as anyone one else. The spit16 is a great plane its marvel of british fiter design, but it no way should it be perked, so enough of the camplaining besides you could be using that time spent complaining to practice not getting shoot down:)
I would like some feed back on the post to see if im the only one who fells this way.

Yup, you'll get some "feedback" allright.

I agree in a way, I think if they perk the 16 they should un-perk the 14 & I like the 14 a lot. I don't really care for the 16 though, I'd rather fly the seafire.

I think, and this is just my guess. I believe most that want the 16, lala and the such perked is due to over usage more than it's uberness. I think the ones that complain would like to fight other planes besides just the 16, LALA, NIKI's all the time.
I have no problem fighting those planes, but it sure gets old everywhere ya go, 90% of the planes are 16's and LALAs.
Plus I don't see why so many get upset about perking a plane. Why give perk points out if you never use them. I fly the CHog alot and if I die a few times I up a Mossy or P40. Go get 2-3 kills and I earn 15 perks or more which is enough for another CHog.
I understand all those that argue it's my $15 bucks let me do what ever. But on the flip side it's also my $15 and the CHog is perked and it's one plane I like to fly, but I don't whine that it's perked, I just deal with it. But like I said, I don't see the big deal in perking planes that get over used. It would keep the game more interesting for me if i was able to fight (or should say die) by a larger variaty of planes other than the same old stuff.
just my .02 cents. Not that it really matters.

Perk everything RAF that's post-1930. That should take care of this problem of people having to fly the plane of their choice against other people flying the plane of their choice.

Comparing planes for use at two different alt ranges.

Not much to choose between them up to around 20k, after that the XIV takes the lead and never looks back.

Just unfortunate all the MA fights are low alt, exactly what the XVI was desinged for. If they were 20k and up the XIV would hold the advantage.

Remember neither are at their max boost used in WWII.
XIV should get 21lbs to justify its perk cost.

Spit 16 is just too uber of a plane.  In one flight, I won a 7v1 in a spit 16 and then a 3v1.  Being able to win a 7v1 alone in it should not happen.

Flew it yesterday as was defending a base pretty much by myself against 4 from a cv.  It was a 4v1; 2 zekes, a hog, and a seafire, and I still won that.

That plane deserves to what it can do.  Plane can basically hover, has good guns, speed, ROC, great turning ability, great roll rate, and overrall not too many planes can outmove it.

Hell people usually complained about la7s before the spit 16 came out and a spit 16 can own a la7 hands down.

Everything is situational.  I kill spit 16's in seafires, la7, p51, and err... well whatever I fly.  How is this possible? Because alot of ppl fly them is all.  It is a good ride, but it's not something that is the 'best'.

The B 17 and B 26 can win in those odds too. Does that mean they're finally getting perked?

when ever a b17 or b26 has a roll rate, climb rate and speed like a spit16, and is used so frequently (like some planes in arena), then ill say perk them.:aok
