Bomber Issues
« on: May 21, 2006, 12:58:58 AM »
Ok... I have gone everywhere to try to get help on this... but no one has any answers so I thought that before I tried calling Skuzzy personally and Interrupting his work routine I would try here...

(say we're in a lancaster III in this particular situation)

Ok, heres the problem... I cannot accelerate AT ALL in any bomber what-so ever... I throttle to full, all gauges read correctly and confirm this information.... I raise flaps... and allow the auto take-off to do it's thing... but Instead, I just cruise down the runway at 2 mph for about 20 minutes before crashing into the water

I have already tried the following things:
1. Take off with out auto take-off
-RESULTS;  If I rudder left I go flying up to 40MPH but no higher because I'm doing circles, rudder right and I come to a complete stop.

2. Recalibrate
       -RESULTS;  No effect.

3. Buy a new joystick
-RESULTS;  Well this is the truely wierd magical part... I bought a new joystick, plugged it in- WITHOUT CALIBRATING IN NIETHER GAME NOR WINDOWS... went to take off in a Lancaster and it auto throttled to full and took off by itself, however I had no control over the plane - as it was still calibrated under my old joystick.  So thinking it was solved I joyfully calibrated my joystick- then went to take off again and the problem returned...

Please help me out SOMEONE I have no idea what more to do...
If you need any other information just tell me...

Check joystick settings? Sounds like you only have one engine on.

The problem does not arise with any fighters/attackers or attacker/bombers
only straight bombers

I looked out both windows at all 4 engines and they are all running... this is also confirmed by my gauge readings as they all read the same

- Throttle 9

-rpms a little under 3

Look under select joystick, and see if the wheel brakes are mapped to your stick.  They should not be unless you have flight pedals or some other extra axis's to control them with.  Fighters can still gain speed with brakes applied, bombers cannot.
