Probably the greatest screw up in Hollywood history was greenlighting the last Paulie Shore movie.

we'll paulie shore has a lot of sway in the business.
no talent, certainly, but a lot of pull.
his family owns one of the big LA comedy clubs, where just about everyone with any ties to comedy was 1st noticed (the comedy store, iirc, not sure), so just about everyone owes him (his mom really).

I saw a great movie last week, one that i'm surprised i hadn't seen before.
The Hunters
it has F-84fs instead of MiG-15s.
not really a mistake imo, hollywood & VVS weren't such buddies in 1958 (at least not openly  :noid :noid :furious :t  ), so where you gonna get a bunch of studmuffingots (not SF, i mean MiG-15s)?
they did the same thing for The McConnel Story, but that was a lot less of a decent movie.
Anyway, if you haven't see this movie.  its great, its on netflix, got Robert Mitchum..
The Hunters.

spit9s for spit1s in dark blue world & in piece of cake.
list could probably go on forever
the bristol biplane in Those Magnificent Men & Their Flying Machines has 3 rudders, but the real one only has two, list could go on forever...already has

That bird from wizard of oz was edited in at some point.

I had a bet with my math teacher in grade school. If i could show the scene, and point out the hanging midget, he would postpone a test we were supposed to take. So he rolls in the tv with the vcr and i show the midget swinging in the background.  in fact, it looks like he actually screwed up the first time, like maybe fell off what he was standing on, before the rope was around his neck.

I saw it on tv a few years back, and now a bird spreads it's wings to cover the swinging rope, with the dead midget at the end of it.

Combat! Season 2
Episode 25-26 What Are the Bugles Blowin' For?
Towards the end of the episode, Saunders is walking with the young French boy. In the background, there is high speed, '60s style traffic whizzing by - over the back fence of the MGM lot.

I could have pretended to be a good spotter, but that would be cheating :D

BTW, in the upcoming "Flags of our Fathers" the crew was extremely accurate. Every platoon had to undergo inspection before going to the set, - down to every button the right way and so on.
Guys with tattoos were either put in far-away background action, or had to go through makeup.
No watches, but if you wanted one it had to look right or you'd get an old one at props.
Muzzle flashes were real (Hollywood ammo), cannons fired a projectile (for recoil), LVT's came from the sea with troops in them, and for the makeup on the wounded, every person was photographed in case they'd have to shoot the next day.
Since the movie mostly happens in gritty 8 days or so there was an issue with beard growing and hairgrowing (even though almost all were wearing a helmet all the time, bu) So, for day#1, all newly shaved and so on.
The whiskers were "ordered", that is, since the shootings took several weeks the extras were informed (like over a weekend) that they should not shave for instance - cos we're doing day#3 you see...
All in forground action had to be inspected with the makeup division before getting to the set, and later on everybody.
There was some flight restriction over the area. The only time I recall shootings being postponed because of this, was when a US military freighter passed the sky.
Extras looking into the camera all the time, were moved.
Close camera on gunners as i.e. the Tommygun, would reveal actual bullets in the magazine.
Platoons stayed as platoons. But their ranks gradually got thinner.
And yet, I bet there will be spottable mistakes.
All wriggling of impatience to see it though.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

In "Full Metal Jacket" when the drill instructor slaps Pvt Joker for not believing in the Virgin Mary.

That has to be one of the fakest, worst filmed slaps of all time.

The Last Waltz

During Neil Young's version of "Helpless", the camera man below him at the front of the stage got a real close up shot..

...of a huge chunk of coke stuck in his nose.

When the DVD was released it was more apparent than ever...and the white booger was digitally edited out...but not before several thousand "unedited" versions were sold.

i hear they are collectors items.:lol

Btw..nobody seen "Plan Nine From Outer Space".?

If you buy the DVD releases of "combat" they have a bloopers section at the end of every episode that tells some of the more glaring ones.   Each episode was shot for about 25k including salaries so it was an amazing show for the money.

My kids just watched X-men II last night on tv, & the teleporting lizard dude was supposed to save the kids in the dungeon level of the bad guys dam fortress, if you look when the kids are yelling for help, you can see the guy in the shadows waiting to step out...but he isn't there yet in the movie, he's still walking down the hall with hallie berry. Just thought I'd mention it because I saw it last night, I see stuff like that constantly.

PPffffftt; Dodge 727's are bullet-proof. Hook one of those to an old 318 & you can crash through chevies all day long.

But it is funny to see vehicles smashed to hell & back & drive away in the next scene un-blemished.
