Our foreign minister said

"it's clear that we cannot stand around applauding the records of that man".

They got really pissed, the Israeli's saying it shows a lack of respect for their democracy.

Let's have a war.

Santa, I don't think you want a war with those guys.  

They'd thinly slice your little Danish butts and serve it back to you in a creamy mustard sauce.

Besides.. its nothing half of our government hasn't said already.  We're just smart enough to keep it out of official memos

Pissed in American slang means annoyed.
Pissed in British slang means drunk.
Pissed off in British slang means annoyed.

So your title suggests that a guy called Israel urinated in the direction of a guy called Denmark.

I guess that isn't that far away from the truth, given Israel's reaction.

So does this mean Denmark will no longer be supplying financial/military aid to Israel, or Israel will no longer be supplying financial/military aid to Denmark?

Or.. does it really hold no relevance in the current scheme of world politics.

Actually it was a simple observation on the relative combat power and combat experience of each nation.

It was not intended as a "who's right/who's wrong" political commentary, nor a feasibility study on how to invade either Denmark or Israel by either side.

 You people don't really belive there is a place called Denmark, do you?  It was just a literary invention, of William Shakespeare, to use as a backdrop for Hamlet. When have you ever heard of a Dane doing anything?  Denmark is like Dr. Suss,s Whoville.

 They would probably slit their own throats first. After what danes did during WWII to save their and other jews from Hitler, danes are regarded as saints by many in Israel and around the world.

 With all due respect, it was not a smart thing to say on the foreing minister part, though. Israel is a democratic state with actively participating population. They know everything about their choice and if they do elect him, they have their reasons. So criticising him is criticizing them too. My friend lives in Kiryat-Shmona over ten years and there was hardly a week in all that period when that town was not shelled at least once. There is a war going on there for over 50 years - many do not realise that. It may be difficult for an outsider to make a reasonable judgement about the situation.

 Of course he has every right to criticize israelis or whoever he wants. Did he say anything about us electing Clinton? That would have been deserved!

That and Denmark is not surrounded by hostile nations.

Heck, I think that Israel did quite well in the Gulf War, I wouldnt have thought twice to nuke Iraq the moment the first scud fell. Matter of fact, Israel DID prepare to launch its nukes at one point. Too bad the UN intervened on behalf of all that poor oil that may have been lost. *sigh*
