On the new map there is a a set of bases isolated in the middle that every one is refering to as "Fighter Town". Having been out of this game for a bit and this being the first time I've evr seen this map I had some questions.

Is this really a "Fighter Town" as we had way back in the day on AW3

if so

Is there a certain etiquette as to how you fight at fighter town?
(such as no vulching no bombing ext.)

Are the bases at “Fighter Town” capturable?

Are the bases at “Fighter Town” needed to be captured for a reset?

Sorry, I havent been in the business that long, im sure someone else can provide the answer :)

Yes and no. Yes, as in the people referring to it as FT would like to furball there "in peace" and vulching, shutting FH etc is highly frowned upon. No as in: theres no official rules as of HTC, not even verbally. So the bases are just as any other and the vulchers and bombers cant be kept out.

Yes.

Are the bases at “Fighter Town” needed to be captured for a reset?

As in are they counted for base count when a country is reset - yes, they are just normal Airfields enclosed in high mountains

Mayhem, i've flown in fighter town only for a cpl hours.  What I saw was much like your name.  I think anything goes.  Including catigating those who do what they want with the time their $15 a month buys them.

Much furious disucssion on this point.  Very serious.  NSA sorta stuff.

This is the way fighter town works.

The map will begin, FT will be a nice big furball with just the odd complaint of picking/hoing. The odd newb will up buffs or scream into an enemy base to vulch.

Withing 12 hours or so, someone will inevitably mount a "mission" into an enemy base, we'll name these people "A" for the sake of it and the base country "B".

A will deack B's base and start the vulch. B will roll out GV's and repulse A's attack. Once the attack is repulsed, there will be the feeling from B's testosterone fueled pilots of revenge. B will launch a counter mission of the same sort as A's on A's base. This will go on ad nauseum until one or the other's base falls to their enemies hands.

Once the base has fallen, C will find themselves outnumbered. Their space in FT will contract until whoever the initial victors were from A and B will have to go directly to C's field to find action. It will be necessary for them to deack and drop the VH in order to vulch in peace. This deackment will upscale itself somehow into dropping the town and attempting to capture base C.

Successful or unsuccessful, the loser of A Vs B will team with C in order to try and reclaim the original loser of A Vs B's revenge fuelled battle's base.

Ch200 will be filled with chat along the lines of;
"stupid A's ruining the fun for everyone"
"why do A's always try blah blah blah"
"bases are capturable, they should be captured"
"C always takes over TT, don't complain when we do the same in FT"
et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

These boards will blow up yet again with much the same as what will be said on ch200.

HTC will take the map out of rotation again because of all the above.

And that's FT in a nutshell.

Last night in FT I see a C205 dive on one of my team mates. I keep my altitude knowing I cant catch him, when he zooms back up (higher than me) I use my speed to climb to him and shoot him down.

This individual then sends me a PM telling me what the ceiling is in FT. :rofl

People however arent too bright that fly in FT.  I was in FT all night last night and 95% of the time on the deck.  I had spits, la7s, niks, etc. dive on my 38 but they overshoot and die.  Having a 38 on the deck gets people drooling thinking its going be a easy kill but in the end die to the lonely 38 on the deck.

Thats because it is an easy kill.  Only thing that saves it is the ocasional screen stater, the visibility limits of the computer display, and the fear of getting ganged so you don't really want to get too slow.

In case you are confused, this thread was not about how good YOU are in a 38 :noid

Well Tinman says it starts with just ho'ing and picking and I beg to differ as there are ways if you are fond of them to counter their ho'ing and picking and counter that.  FT brings a blast to FT and place for furballers to do their thing.

This map also proves that there arent many serious toolshedders as if there was the dar bars in FT would be almost nothing and would be many dar bars elsewhere.  Looking at this map last night couldnt find any large dar bar on the map except what was in Ft.

FT is great, and many people seem to love it.

I can't post pictures, but I took a couple of screenshots last night of the map over FT.  Summary is, with 90-95 Rooks on, there were about 30 green dots over FT.  I'm sure it was the same for other countries.  That's a solid 1/3 of the AH population that uses FT to find a quick fight.

With a map this big (250ish fields?) and only ~250 total people on, FT is a must have.

A few things.

I love donut.

Everyone else should either love donut, or at least tolerate donut and leave FT alone for people like me who don't have that much time anymore and need a quick shoot-em-up fix.

People who hate donut and can't stand that it might be the map for a whopping week out of a month have obviously never had a gf.  I'd really get into the benefits of the week of donut by comparing it to a gf in more detail, but I don't want to get banned.

That is all.
