Guys, read my post again, I don't think that they should be repressed.  Yes, my children will learn about them one day.  No, they are not a threat, until they go to poiticians and say "We MUST go to the schools and tell them that we are GAY"...then, ONLY THEN, are they a threat IMO.

Let me put it to you like this.  If I wanted to go to your schools where your children are  attending, and FORCE them to accept my life sytle (Guns, hunting, Cowboy boots, drive pick-ups, enjoy watching rodeos) do you think that your Gov't should allow that?  Well, thats whats happening in America, someone elses lifestyle is being forced upon our children in various forms.

I don't expect anyone to explain the "Birds and the Bees" to my children except for me or my wife.  I also don't expect any alternate life styles to be explained to my kids from any other source than from ME or my wife.  Is it asking too much to let me explain to them the sexual differences when the time comes?

If you want to be gay, fine.  If you want to tell someone about it, tell an adult, don't think for a moment that its YOUR responsibility to tell the kids how YOU should be accepted.  That's up to the adults, not the Gays!

How can any true Christian not be threatened by homosexuals?

I always thought that the Christians wanted everyone to belive the way they did and if you didn't then you were a threat to their way of life and treated like an outcast.

I am not a Christian and I don't know if the above is true. This is just the impression I get from the people around me.

When I was younger I used to say "Who cares if they are gay, As long as they keep it to themselves.". Well guess what? They don't and now I care.

I would not want a gay person anywhere near my kids..ever! I think it's a mental illness that needs to be cured ASAP.

I damn sure wouldn't want a gay person teaching my kids! Why would I want someone who I find morally offensive teach my kids about morality?

We've had a gay person teaching in our schools before and it ended with him molesting grade school kids.

Are all gays going to molest kids? No.

I think that is sick, to teach a 5th grade class this kind of a subject.Homosexual agenda and lifestyle(Did anyone see the picture she standing next to!!).Why not stick em with a cattle prod too if they look or talk to the opposite sex. Where the hell is this country going.

I'm all for the teaching of Safe Sex,but in 5th grade no. This should wait till 7th and 8th grade. To teach a child a course like that in 5th grade or in any grade is just plain wrong IMO.

Teaching sex-ed in 5th grade isn't even early enough.  If you wait until 7th or 8th grade that is far too late, you need to get your kids educated BEFORE their reproductive systems kick into gear, not after.

As to what you actually teach, open for debate of course.  But if, as a parent, the school is trying to teach what you should have already taught your kids years before, then that is simply irresponsible parenting.

Gargoyle, I understand were your comming from, but I still think 5th grade is to young to teach a group of children that subject.The maturity is just not there.7th and 8th grade I think is more suitable. It will prepare them for the High School and College years were it applies mostly to.

I do plan on teaching my children about sex education with my values and beliefs hoping that it will guide them the rite way, and as a base for teaching there own children years to come as I was taught by my parents.
