If you have it, specify.  If you like it, specify.  And whatever else you have to say about, I would like your opinions.  I am wondering if its worth the 15 dollars per month.

repetitive, so to answer your question... it's a "no" as far as I'm concerned.

its not whether its worth $15 dollars a month but rather if you do enjoy it is it worth loseing your entire social life outside a game

I was once an addict, lvl 60 undead warlock with tier 1 and 2 epic equipment, I was in one of the top raiding guilds on our server and i had an amazing time and it was really fun.

but the pressure involved to play end game content and the amount of time needed does not leave much time for anything but WoW, and after the christmas break when i couldn't play (maybe 2 weeks) i had fallen so far behind the other warlocks and mages in my guild for DKP (point system used for working out who takes the item drops) that it would take me a month of raiding to catch up before i would have a sniff at anymore equipment.

to be honest it does kind of scare me how much of my life it stole and i'm glad that i have kicked the habit its fun but not easy to play in short bursts after lvl 40 or so.

I'm now much happier this year without wow, back to camping and surfing and living in the real world with my new girlfriend.

WoW can be fun if played casually as well. It is a game that I can play with my wife (she won't play flight sims). In fact, we play with my brother and his wife when everybody's schedule permits. We don't worry about who gets what item and stay away from guilds. We also don't play 24/7, just a few hours here and there depending how busy we are with other things. A few years ago, I would have considered it expensive. But compared to how much we spend on gas commuting to work, it is just a drop in the bucket at $30 a month for the two of us. Lately, we haven't played much at all, but my wife doesn't want to quit until we reach level 60. We are in the 40's right now.

THere is such a fundamental difference between games like WOW and AH. SOmebody wrote a psych paper on WOW, detailing the use of the jacob ladder effect. Something like when mice get pellets for doing a task. You get a new bit of armor, or a spell - and you level up and get more content. But the content is usually just more of the same, maybe some new tactical challenges thrown in.

The level of coordination needed is nowhere near what AH missions require. Not even close. The only reason you hear so many stories about guilds and teamwork is that compared to a halfway decent squadron, these are a bunch of ritilan pumped children. Getting people to focus and stay on mission is a massive PITA unless you get with a guild made up of people over 21, exclusively. 25 is better as the floor age.

Lining up spells and other buffs and then setting up your buttons for a perfectly timed set of cascading attacks in WOW gets old next to the rush that a perfectly timed kill coming out of the sun does. I played WOW early on, in the begining days, and made it to 40 and then quit. I played on a RPG server where nobody stayed in character and mob pulls and competing teams made the game silly.

The main arena, from what I understand, in AH, is full of HO and rammers. So you need to adjust tactics and just wait for distracted players to get kills. But there is so much more to the human element that every encounter is different. In WOW, the game pretty much is rinse and repeat after level 20 or so.

Dos Equis, believe me, online flight sim can grow old too.

It's funny, while I was playing AH, I tried a couple of MMORPGs and never got interested.

Now that I'm burned out on the flightsim genre, I am giving Eve Online a second try and I like it. I am fortunate to have found a corporation where most members are above 30 and it's quite fun.

That being said, I haven't played it much during the last two weeks, but the nice weather is to blame ;)
