this game is great fun.

played a few rounds with some of you last night.

few quick questions;
the RADIO default key is T right ? is that so only players on my team in my vicinity can hear me or is it all players in my vicinity?

Dogfighting, how can I turn and maneuver quicker? I am guessing I need to back the throttles back... should I use flaps? or any other helpful hits for gaining a advantage on my enemy? or how to better get him off my 6 ?

Bombing, MAN! is there any way to get more altitude faster? LOL
those heavys... I just put in a safe heading and hit ALT X and leave it alone for 30 min... LOL

GREAT GAME! hope to see you all more often.

well... you've allready figured out the "heavies" or, as they are called here, the fluffs.

Lot's of guys and gals here do all the housework so they do as you say... just set it for autoclimb and go throw a load in the washer or do some dishes...maybe even scrub a floor or two..  Get dinner ready...   And... the best part is that you don't even have to run up the little womans credit card buying joysticks and controlers... it can all be done just as well with nothing but a mouse..

It can get pretty excieting tho when the water is starting to boil on the old stove and you are only a few minutes away from an undefended field or cv!

Welcome to AH :).

Radio voice transmission can be done on two channels.
Either Range which goes to people in your vincinity (more or less icon range). Hold F12 while talking.
The second channel is Tunable, the fifth box in your radio box. You can transmit to anyone on the same channel with you. Channel numbers 100 through 199 are usually used by squads. Channels 200 through 299 can also be tuned and can be used for cross country transmission (ie people tuned to it can be on different countries and still hear each other). You can also type in a GameID to use that channel for private transmission - check your mic by putting your own name in :). Hold T while talking.

Dogfighting: Yes, working throttle is part of it. But by no means all. I suggest you check out Net Aces,  SimHQ  and Sodas Aircraft Page  for info on AH planes. Lots of info can also be found in the Help and Training Section on this board.

For practical training come by the Training Arena. Usually someone there that can answer your questions and help you with BFM/ACM.

The Trainer Corps can be contacted at Trainers@flyaceshigh.com for scheduled training sessions.

Bombers: Yes they are sloooooooow climbers, just as they historically were. Take 25-50% fuel, thats usually plenty. Other then that, hit ALT X and go afk for half an hour is a good thing to do :).
21 is only half the truth.

The most important thing is to learn to fly your own game. If you want to fly an \"E\" fighter or BnZ ride, fly to be successful and just ignore the Spixteen whiners who complain about you not trying to turn fight them in your Typhoon. ;)
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

You will turn tighter if you are slower. One of the main things in this game is gauging your speed and that of the enemy. Sometimes it comes down to who can DEcellerate fastest, but able to balance the fine line between getting the speed down, but not too far too quickly.

Definately set yourself up for a training session...  But you will get much more out of it if you do a bit of studying before it (that way the trainer can get on to more complex things then what button does what, etc.)

Schatzi mentioned some great links, check them out :aok

2am is nothing, btw...  Just wait lol :D

The drones in offline mode won\'t help you TOO much with ACM, but DO provide a decent beginning gunnery platform. Even if you\'ve played other sims before you WILL need to adjust to the gunnery model in this game (took me a couple weeks before I could even hit a target! Of course, most of the time I STILL can\'t, but the fluke hits are becoming more common now ;) ).
