Keep diggin', buddy!  :aok

Are you telling me that I didn't just see it on CNN?

Digging for what? It's in an itelligence report. Are you saying it's not?

Yes.... You didn't see it on CNN.

(lol - how the hell do I know?.... But.... I've had it on in the background now for the last hour and all it is is Cher and helmets.)

Maybe I missed some special 'breaking news" thing when I ran to the store a little while ago. But somehow I doubt it.

Since when does the actual finding of WMD not warrant front page coverage everywhere? It's certainly not on CNN's.

Other than Foxnews I haven't seen it anywhere else; CNN, Yahoo, etc...

Maybe they learned a lesson from Dan Rather.

Quoted from the document I posted above:

"But make no mistake--as I said earlier--we have high confidence that they have weapons of mass destruction. That is what this war was about and it is about." - Ari Fleisher

Nuke, IF it were true about finding wmd's it would be front page WORLD news at an instant  -- THAT IS THE REASON YOU GAVE THE WORLD FOR GOING TO WAR

Here is a clue for you guys.

500 weapons have been found since 2003. They contained mustard and VX gas, according to a declassified intelligence document.

Are you saying that you don't beleive it?

Are you saying that the document is not true?

Are you saying that it cannot be found on CNN's website right now?

Are you saying that I can't list a bunch of other sources that reported it?

Cause this is gonna be funny. Nash, you jump into things and say things without thinking first. I don't.

Ok stupid thought but what the heck....Do you think the nuke program Saddam had was sent to Iran and now the Iranians are building what Saddam was starting??

Even though those two countries hate each other they both have one thing in common....They both hated the USA.....as a matter of fact most if not all middle eastern countries hate us.

It's not that I don't believe, I have no reason to discard the information.

But what sticks in my craw is; Why wasn't this information disseminated much, much earlier?

Which brings me to why the White House would withhold this information for all this time and I, for the life of me, can't think of one good reason.  The Foxnews video said the White House didn't want to release the information because "they didn't want to get into 'that' argument again."  :huh

Something very fishy here...

We'll see about that, Nuke, when the sun rises tomorrow and this is either one of, if not the biggest story since the invasion, or..... it isn't. ;)

Well, they have been trying to get this report declassified for 2 years.

The only reason I could imagine for keeping it under wraps is that possibly the intelligence could embarrass somebody, like Russia.

Maybe we made a deal a long time ago with someone that may have helped Iraq get ride of or hide some WMD? I don't know.

I'm sure all kinds of deals have been made behind the scenes since 911.

Now you're going to go all paranoid conspiracy theory on me?

Baby... don't do that to me. Don't do that to us.

I thought we had something good going here. Something real.

You're tearing me up inside.

So now it has to be one of the biggest stories? I thought it just had to make the papers, anywhere?

To be honest, I don't think it's a huge story and I have never said that I thought it was.

What makes you think that finding 500 shells filled with VX and Mustard gas is such a big deal?

Im being realistic.

Let's just assume for arguments sake that the report is true. Can *you* think of any reason to classify it?

The reason I listed was the only thing I could think of. That's not being nutty, it's just giving my thoughts on the matter.

I really have no idea what goes on behind the curtain, and neither do you.

Oh... I don't know....

Maybe a thread entitled "Breaking news, WMD in Iraq" posted by, oh... I don't know... you.

Exactly what was I underestimating when you said "You are underestimating this"?

I see the backpedal is already starting to take place.
