There have certainly been numerous requests for LEGITIMATE planes from WWII which aren't currently in AHII. Wouldn't it have been better - and just as much fun - to model some of those, then let the people at Con INTRODUCE them to the game? They would have the honor of being the first to fly the new models.

If non-WWII planes are allowed - and the other goofy things cons have produced in the past - and if the response is "lighten up and have fun" - then why not let us make and post ANY skins - you know - FUN ONES, too?

Why does one side of the mouth claim to maintain historical accuracy while the other side speaks like a clown?

Hey , I know - let's just start making up all sorts of crap; I mean the limits on historical planes have been lifted, so... Let's see flying doghouses called the Snoopy MkII, modified bats called the VH-8, flying bathtubs which can hold massive water bombs, small remote control fighters you can control from the ground to kill vulchers...

If we aren't going to stick to WWII planes, why stop with the RV8?

If AHII is going to be a somewhat historical WWII simulator, then STICK TO ACTUAL WWII PLANES!

And don't tell me to go somewhere else. When I started seeing a bunch of 1955-era planes flying about with gatling type guns, I logged.

If I want to play fantasy games, there are FAR better offerings out there than AHII.

I only live 40 miles from Dallas. Last night reminded me why I skipped the Con.

It was for the con only.
Evidently you don't get and never will.

Here have some
to go with that whine.

Yet another post of someone who doesn't relize just how short the of time that was needed to create such a simple plane really was.
A Rook who first flew 09/26/03 at the age of 13, has been a GL in 10+ Scenarios, and was two-time Points and First Annual 68KO Cup winner of the AH Extreme Air Racing League.

whether it was short or not its still time taken away from other planes that should be done. Rubber bullets and other bugs(weak hellcat wings) need to be fixed, rv8 takes time away from it. Historical accuracy and just have fun, its hard to have both. I would like to have a custom paint on my mustang and corsair... thats not accurate, but ok rv8 lets have fun? If they spent 3 hours on rv8 thats 3 hours tooken away from other things like bugs or new planes(that were in ww2).

Instead of rv8 they should of did the p80, it was flyin during ww2 it just wasnt combat ready, that would have been fun. They should make rv8 an offline plane at least, then it wont be an entire waste of time.

Yea 600 bucks or so for a trip to just do to a small ah con is kinda dum, not like its in vegas, atlantic city or somethin. U could hang out at the con for alittle then go and do somethin else.

Bandit get over it . The model was probably always there in some fashion. It's HT personal AC ever think HT modeled it long ago for his own personal use?
As for historical accuracy it was for what 4 hours tops. I say let you have your own skin for the same time would that make you happy?
Guess what it's not all about YOU.

As for rubber bullets turn your Vsync on.
If you have a problem with hellcat ripping wings off .. send film and do the research to back up how many Gs with what load it could pull.

As for the going to the con. If I had not been out of work 9 months due to injury, I'd a been there. I had a few squad mates there I'd like to meet. From what I have read and heard everybody had a good time.

Quit whining HT throws these things for PR . Don't like it don't go to the con and don't fly the night of the con mission.

A c2 barely raked me, one hit on the wing and it broke n half, it wasnt under any g's, i have tryed to break this plane under g's and nothin happens. The f6f is one of those planes that was known for being rugged, if a la7 can pound on a fm2 and i can turn around and kill him f6f should have the same type of strenght.

If the con was a 2 3 hour drive ok, but its not. It should have been in a city where there more things to do, like miami. THere aint nothin to do but play AH and thats somethin u could do at home. Lets say i spent 1100 to 1500 bucks on a trip, i want to do more then play wit rv8. If u want to meet guys that play the game im pretty sure u can set up regional locations, it doesnt have to be an 1500 dollar trip, just a 2 hour drive.

Film lets see the proof. If no film its anecdotal and means nothing. Like I said film it send it in.

HTC is a small company with limited resources. Also I am thinking the con is best the way it is. Its a small gathering of enthusiasts. Meaning the style of it keeps the tards away.

Its funny because when i record my flights nothin happens but when the tape isnt rollin ill down a hurr 2 la7s and 2 ju88 in a fm2. Next time i take out f6f ill roll film.

Miami huh? I take offence at that! If Miami was so great it would be in Texas. LOL I've been there, it's an "S" hole. Should be raised to the ground and covered in concrete.

Why is it I get the feeling that had some of these guys gone to the Con with the attitudes expressed here, they would have likely spent a portion of the evening in the hotel dumpster?

Gentlemen, the Con is a celebration of making friends and having fun. It is also a tradition to run the Evil Con Mission. Inasmuch as you had to be flying near the one base from which RV-8s were spawning, you had the entirety of the map remaining, where no RV-8s would be. A few years back, they introduced the Me 163 at the con. The Evil Con Mission was centered on flying 163s with tons of ammo and an hour of fuel. They howled about that one too.

Ya know, if they gave them solid gold toilets, these guys would still find a reason to pee on the seat.
