We who have been waiting for CT for some time and for new planes and vehicles have been slapped in the face hard by HT.We see him posting pics of his Airplane and him flying it around,They sure have put a lot of time into making this RV8 plane for the MA and the Con.

Doesn't seem too me like they are in a big hurry too make CT a reality any time soon, seems they are just like every other game developer( all about themselves) and do not care too make good on their promises.

So i will not make good on my subscription every month and i urge everyone else too stop payin the 15$ too just too prove a point seeing as how they have strung us along for so long now.

As long as CT debuts with as few bugs as possible (sure to be some, but hopefully not too too many), AH2 will thrive for a LONG time.  There should be many more subscribers, much more $$$ coming in, and maybe even enough to pay for another employee to help speed along other developments like new planes or whatnot.  Alternately, maybe all our subscription fees will be lowered.  I'm not saying they need to be (as others pointed out, this is the best deal on earth), I'm just saying with more money comes more options.

If CT debuts buggy as a swamp, many of those new subscribers will not become retained subscribers, and there goes all that nice new stuff and possible options.

Take as LONG AS YOU NEED, HTC.  Just make it a killer :aok

I still don't see why people think it would take so long to make the RV8. It's quite easily the most simple thing ever created for a game.

No matter how hungry I am in the morning, I never just crack open the eggs then pour em into a glass and chug em down. I cook em first and when they're done I eat them.

I hope and want HTC to finish the goods before we get to devour it.

I doubt the time it took to make the RV8 was overwheling and it may have even been completed much sooner than we saw it. I ejoyed it.
The interface may have had certain problems, the hitting BACK and ctd'ing for one, and with new features in CT added it makes redoing the interface a acceptable thing that needed to be done first.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

I sure as hell would like to see the CT.

But why release it in summer anyway? Go out in the good weather and have some fresh air, that little bad weather we can spend in ma as well.

And.. its not that hard slapping together an RV8 model, data exists and the flight model doesnt need to be historic. Putting on 4 black sticks on each side and quadruple the fire rate of the hispano guns there we go. Guess the jeep was at least 8 times as complicated.

The Rv8 wasn't created for the con, it was already modeled for quite some time.

Like Goos, I get what I want out of AH.  I'm also impressed with the product.

A long time ago I purchased "Flights of Fantasy" so I could 'learn' how to programm a flight sim.  It's tougher that it sounds.

If anyone had a clue about software development times, they'd know that it always takes longer then expected to complete a project.  All you have to do is look around and see that that is true.

As for the RV-8, I bet HiTech had 'help' buildin it.  Somehow I doubt that his circle lacks guys who'd shun working on a plane.

Apparantly HiTech gives all his customers what they want.  Most of us want to fly and we get to and the few who want to complain and ***** like a premenstral woman, well, he gives them what they want also, it seems.

Auto, lets just get a few things straight here...

first off, HTC never asked you to convince customers to subscribe. quite frankly doing so is manipulative. niether did HTC advertise, 'sign up to AH2 and we swear to bring you ToD/CT by this date.' the majoity of subscribers join because they like the game, not because they listened to some guy tell them they should for such and such a reason. claiming that you have repeatedly kept HTC in business is absurd, no offence intended, just stating the facts.

your discerning comments regarding HiTech's honour, or his 'word', are just insults because youre pissed about something and need to lash out. most of us fall for this one when we get worked up.

If you wished for anything to be done about this, you went the wrong way about it, biting the hand that feeds, so to speak. They feed us online flight sim and we feed thier families. a fair trade.

If you really just wanted to leave and take as many as you could with you, you'd have been better off keeping it quiet and talking in private to any friends you have here, rather than ranting and instantly humourizing your thoughts. another easy social trap.

either forget this thread and leave or come back when you feel like it, our community is very forgiving in the long run, if you can be man enough to stand by whatever part of yourself people dont like.

You ever take the time to talk to HT or Pyro directly?  They're very accessible and tell you what's going on if you ask them.  Hell, I just spent the last few days drinking with them and discussing what's going on in the AH world.  I think if you'd done the same, you wouldn't be making such an idiot out of yourself now.

Here's the story as I got it from them...

CT is HTC's #1 priority because, besides just being cool, they see it as a way to increase cash flow by broadening their customer base.  Because of that, everything they do is related to getting CT out ASAP, even if some of the stuff they do isn't CT-specific but affects the underlying AH game itself.  Problem is, once they got into actually building CT stuff instead of just brainstorming it, the discovered they had to make some unanticipated major changes in the underlying game to make certain CT features work.   And because HTC is a small company, they can't do 2 things at once.  So when they hit one of these snags, they have to stop doing CT-specific stuff (such as the mission system) and rewrite some part of existing AH (such as the seemingly insignificant interface tweaks in 2.08).

2.08 sidelined CT-specific development for about 6 weeks but had to be done to make CT work in the future.  However, all the CT-related work took place way down in the guts and had very little noticeable effect on the player's day-to-day experience, at least as of now.  Besides, the old interface worked well enough for us as we use it now, so the need for the change, from a player's POV, wasn't obvious.  So folks like you question HTC's priorities in doing this instead of CT-specific stuff or new planes, without thinking that if it wasn't necessary for CT, HTC wouldn't have done it.

New planes have the same sort of burden for HTC.  They can either make new planes, which take months to get ready for release, or work on CT, but not both.  And don't go thinking HT made a special exception for his RV8, which is something we'll never see in the MA or CT.  Actually, they've had the RV8 in the game for a long time as a development tool.  By noting how the game RV8 flies compared to the real thing, HT can make accurate changes in the flight model, which makes all the planes we fly in the game behave more realistically.  So when you see pics of HT flying his real RV8, remember it's not only his toy, but also one of his tools.  So they didn't recently "add" it to the game at the expense of CT work, they just let us finally get to fly it.

You obviously are operating under 1 of 2 assumptions:

#1.  You think HT's already got CT finished and is just delaying release sadistically to screw with his own customers.  That's the only situation in which he'd need no money to pay his people to finish it up.

#2.  You've only been flying AH in anticipation of CT, and now that you've decided it will never appear, you're quitting the game.

In either case, don't let the door hit you in the ass.  In the 1st, I'm glad to see Darwin take you out, along with any others so foolish.  In the 2nd case, at least I won't have to read any more idiotic posts like this.

I play it because it's the best damn online flight sim there is. If you're in a rut you can do things to get out of that rut. We have almost 100 different aircraft/gvs in this game and if you only fly a few, branch out and fly others (yes, even obsolete ones). Fly a different way. If you team up start flying solo. If you're a lone wolf find some friends, whatever.

But don't tell me you're playing this game for the promise of things to come. You're playing it because it's great. Now, the proclaimed deadlines is a bone of contention. However, it just makes me disbelieve HTC whenever they issue a date. It makes me jaded. It doesn't affect the game in any way as it is now.

Holy crapola, I actually agree with Krusty for once.
