They are not super-silent, but not more noisy then other choppers. Prop blades always make noise, they produce small "sonic booms", at least when the chopper moves at some significant speed.
It's no use to hang silently over the battlefield. Hit and run, so the guys with stingers will not have time to aim. Anyway Mi-24 was quite effective so far.

To Neubob: Mi-28 and Ka-50 are in minimal numbers now. We have several thousand Mi-24s and maybe a dozen of new choppers. I hope that in cae of war our industry will start making new models, like they did with T-34s in 1941, but I don't want to witness it. Did you see an "Osobo vazhnoye zadaniye" film? "Frontline needs IL-2 like bread, like air!..."
