Just seems odd one can't ID soviet hardware on sight, they taught us that in school almost. So I am guessing he was born after 1988 at least.

on a grey day.

Gettting a good shot is something i pretty underestimated

We had an aerobatic team flying Su-25 shturmoviks back in the 90s. What scared me was that they literaly turn on their tails and dance like i don;t know what, imagining this beasts ironong me when i sit in a trench or ride some armour is really frightening. And they are almost silent when they approach...

Mi-24s are not too noisy. They are faster then Apache and probably are more "sneaky". And they don't fall down like leaves in autumn being shot by a grandfather with a 100 years old K98 ;)

Hehe I believe my own ears :) They are not super-silent, but not more noisy then other choppers. Prop blades always make noise, they produce small "sonic booms", at least when the chopper moves at some significant speed.

It's no use to hang silently over the battlefield. Hit and run, so the guys with stingers will not have time to aim. Anyway Mi-24 was quite effective so far.

Great that you guys didn't scrap this beautiful machines. I hope you have the guts to refuse from adopting "NATO standard weapons" and keep making your own stuff.

To Neubob: Mi-28 and Ka-50 are in minimal numbers now. We have several thousand Mi-24s and maybe a dozen of new choppers. I hope that in cae of war our industry will start making new models, like they did with T-34s in 1941, but I don't want to witness it. Did you see an "Osobo vazhnoye zadaniye" film? "Frontline needs IL-2 like bread, like air!..."

It's 05:30. It's why I don't have I-net at home. Now I am at my Father's place. It's ironic: I live 20min away from his job, he lives 20min from mine, both of us spend about an hour to get to work.

Both our flats have no hot water now (bastards do their best to turn it off simultaneously at all the places where my relatives and friends live), but here, at the University district, cold water is warm enough to wash without screaming. I live in the North, Rechnoy Vokzal, and it's almost impossible to wash hands in cold water without getting frozen. Main water intakes are not far from my flat :(

OK, finishing a last cigarette and going to bed. See you! ;)
