Sucks when your body throws you for a loop.
« on: July 07, 2006, 12:18:50 PM »
Man sometimes Docs drive me nuts.

I have been sick for about 10 weeks now.

Started out with a pinched nerve so bad I couldn’t stand. Finally went in, and the prescribed 800 MG Motrin, and vicadin, and physical therapy.

That helped the neck but about 3 days after I started taking the Motrin I started getting sick every morning, usually waking up between 4 and 5 AM and puking.

If my stomach is empty I puke bile.

At first they thought it was just a reaction to the motrin (Common from what they say), but I had stopped taking it cause the neck pain was manageable and I hate puking.

I have not had Motrin or Advil or any vicadin etc since that first week.

So they send me to a stomach doc, he recommends the camera down the throat thing....... that showed a normal stomach.

My family has a history of Silent Gallbladder issues.

They do an ultrasound of my abdomen, all they find is a fatty liver (prolly caused by the rapid weight loss).

Now I am sitting here, I ok, I am only sick in the morning. ( No I am not pregnant, like I haven’t heard that ****ing joke from everyone witty mother****er including all the damn doctors.)

Maybe its Karma....

Only upside is I have gone from about 310LBS to 245 and falling.

I don't have a clue what to do now, the doctors are out of ideas as far as I can tell but I am going to have to keep bugging them.

Luckily my boss understands, but I miss lots of mornings when I am really sick.

They are now telling me it may be stress but the only thing stressing me out is being sick.....

I am getting pretty good at puking too............... gota think of the bright sides...

My brother-in-law had similiar, not exactly the same, but similiar symptons.

They thought it was gall bladder, and some if it was, but it was also his pancreas.

Long story short, it was a lucky thing the gall bladder acted up....it probably will add years to his life, as they found a problem with his pancreas and ended up taking half of it out, along with the gall bladder.

He found alcohol really made his symptons act up during this time.

From what I read here in this thread all you need is a good doctor.  There is a reason(s) for whats happening to you, a good doctor can help you figure it out and fix it.

Do you always wake up and have to puke?  Or can you be awake for a while and then puke.
I know a guy who's sleep apnea symptom was choking in his sleep, which would make him vomit.
You've got the tree trunk neck like me and TOB, so I bet you do have the apnea.  You should look into a CPAP even if the vomiting stops.

long shot, but go to a DO (bone doctor) and make sure your spine is not out of whack.  Pinched nerves or compressed nerves can show up in some really weird ways.  Your stomcach is packed with nerves that control your poop chute as well as your puker.

speaking of vomit, has anyone seen that web photo from a few years back of the guy at a party doing high pressure vomit through both nostrils?

I never wake up and have to puke that second, its usualy about a half hour later and suden.

I have been able to get up, take a pepcid pill and go back to sleep, and if I do sleep for about an hour I dont puke about 50% of the time.  This only works well on weekends because I dont have time to go back to sleep on weekdays unless I get lucky and wake up at like 330 or 4AM.

I have thought about that CPAP stuff cause I am a big snorer lol.  Does it force you to sleep on your back? (that would be good since sleeping on my stomach is bad for my neck.)

You can sleep on your side or your back with a CPAP.  If you sleep on your stomach it's probably because you're self-compensating for the apnea.  Once you get the CPAP you'll sleep on your back as Jebus intended.
