In the MA this thing will be meat on the table for the Luffwabbles.  If it runs it will only die tired.  If it turns it will only die disoriented.

It's another great CT/SEA plane though.

Fester,

The RAF Museum replied to that question with this answer:

Quote
Dear Mr Ahola,

Thank you for your enquiry. The RAF manual for the Mosquito VI includes a
table for weight and loading. This quotes 2000 rounds of 0.303 ammunition
for the Brownings and 600 20mm rounds for the Hispanos - i.e. 500 rounds per
Browning and 150 per Hispano.

However, there are also two lines:
"Total Overload Browning Ammunition, 3120 rounds" and
"Total Overload Hispano Gun Ammunition, 700 rounds"
which suggests to me that in certain circumstances the aircraft could carry
780 rounds per Browning and 175 rounds per Hispano. I have no information on
how often these loads - or other variations - were carried, but you might
like to contact:

FB.VI: Fighter-Bomber and Intruder (Day and Night). Same gun armament as F.II but also carried two 250 lb. (113 kg.) bombs in rear bay and two more on wings (eventually increased to 500 lb.). Alternatively, 50 or 100 gal. drop tanks, mines, depth charges or eight 60 lb. rockets could be fitted to wing stations. Some aircraft were fitted with AI radar. Total production: 2,584. This variant was the most numerous.

F.II: Night fighter. Pilot and observer sit side by side. Flat, bullet resistant windscreen, extended engine nacelles (standard for later versions). Armament consists of four 20mm Hispano cannon under cockpit with 300 rounds per gun and four .303 in. Brownings mounted in nose with 2000 rounds per gun. Subsequently fitted with A1 Mk IV or V Radar or Turbinlight searchlight.

me thinks ra needs a cuff up side of the head, he is delierious(sp?)

A mossie will be the ultimate buff hunter once it has some alt.

The mossie with Alt will likely be a pretty durn good BnZ'er too!! (not E fighter)

what somethin close to 380+ mph +)

hmm that version doesn't have a bombsite does it?  if it doesn't we need the glass nose too!!

whels,

The Mosquito VI we're getting is a Series 2.

The Series 2 could cary 2 500lb bombs in the bomb bay and 2 500lb bombs under the wings.  You could, of course, carry 250lb bombs instead.  The Series 2 can also carry 8 60lb rockets under its wings as well as drop tanks.

The major difference between the Series 1 and Series 2 was the engines.  The Series 1 was powered by 2 Merlin 21 or 23 engines rated at 1,480hp. The Series 2 was powered by 2 Merlin 25 engines rated at 1,680hp.
