The Type 5 Chi-Ri never saw combat.

Japan focused on ships and aircraft letting their tanks lag far, far behind due to the limited industrial resources they had and the combat environments they expected. The Type 5 Chi-Ri was really the first Japanese unit that could seriously be considered a tank, though it would have been a rather weak one. Those that they had built were being saved for use against the Allied invasion of Japan itself.

ok ok, u got me there, it was just a prototype, but still, it would be awesome though.

BUT THIS ON THE OTHER HAND WAS NOT just a prototype, it saw production and was/is consider one of the best tanks of the war, along with the t34/85.

It would b a good addition but there r alredy 2 german tanks, no brittish, american, italian or japanise, put the sherman in first (cant really consider the LVTa4 or a fighter tank) and i belive the 85 was a post WWII tank, it was used in 1954 in the Hungarian Revolution.

Sorry, the T34/85 saw extensive service during WWII.

If we want to argue historical use, then the T34 series, 76 and 85 were the most often used. I would wager the SU 85, SU 100 and SU 57 would not be far behind - in fact they would probly lead any single model of Ger, US or English TDs in number, effectiveness or impact on the war. If total development was based on numbers or year deployed, the Soviets would dominate the vehicles in AH.

The Soviet / Nazi front was -the- significant ground front in WW II. As much as I hate to say it, the Sovs did the heavy lifting on the ground.

I wasnt really talking bout the firepower, i was talkin bout the thin armor, a m8 could kill it with 2 or 3 rounds

MWL yes i kno the T34 saw extensive action, the crew would rather get to full speed and crash in2 the tigers and criple it that way than get in2 a fire fight, i had just thought that the T85 that was used through out the 50-70/80's i think was a totally different tank that the one used in WWII, i guess i stand corrected

Naw, not corrected. The T34/85 was used in the Hungarian revolt. The the T55 was available, however the T34 was used during training to avoid wearing out the new vehicles.

To gain surprise, the invasion was conducted with thte T34s - also, the crews probly new how to operate them better!

Thouroughly disproven. Lots on the subject. Too lazy to look up exact particulars, but IIRC the first person to posit that theory (an air corps guy, wouldn't you know) didn't even see Wittmann's tank until several months later, and made his statement essentially without any facts. But the air corp types liked it because it made them look good, and the Germans didn't want to make it known that their premier tank ace in their premier tank was killed by allied armor.
