Crashing problem
« Reply #15 on: July 20, 2006, 06:47:32 AM »
I have recently switched (thinking it was an upgrade) to the nVidia GeFroce 6200 with 512MB video memory.  As a result of this fine upgrade, I can no longer get into the game.  When I pop into the tower after the sign on screen, the game freezes and either crashes me to desktop (and closes the game) or completely crashes the system (also closing the game LOL).

I have rolled back to older drivers. I have uninstalled and reinstalled AHII.  I have checked and unchecked all sorts of settings on the video card. And, finally, I have checked and unchecked all manners of settings in the AHII video files.  Still no dice.

I am trying to run the game at 1024 monitor resolution with 512 the game graphic detail setting.

If anyone has any suggestions (short of return the card to the store and tell them where to put it -- I already know that one) I would most certainly appreciate it.  I would like to return to the video skies.  Please help!

REMOVE nVIDIA drivers first. before 84.21

If you read nVIDIA Install notes you will find directions, they say to remove any installed drivers before loading new. Check ADD?REMOVE programs

Hope that helps ;)
