The NRA is having to sue again regarding returning guns. The previous court order told nagin and the chief of police to return the weapons but didn't give them a deadline. They are dragging their feet and haven't returned one yet as they state they need time to screen the folks they will be returning their property to.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

well.. most has been said here... The NRA was essential in getting this bill up to a vote.. they had allready gotten several states to pass similar ones.

You may think that the democrats are not as bad as I portray but.... the vote count shows that only one republican oppossed this extremely common sense and human rights bill while more than half of the democrats either oppossed or abstained from voting.

If Bush were not pres.... I don't think this would have even gotten this far... more and more little mayors would be using any power outage as an excuse to barge in an confiscate guns.

Those who think people who oppose regestration of firearms are paranoid need to look at what happened in LA.

Yes... while I do not agree with everything I have ever heard from the NRA.. I do agree that allmost every single issue that they have lobbied for is in my best interest as a believer in the second amendment.

For that reason... and their safety programs and range programs and sponsorship of shooting sports....  I will continue to send them my money for dues.

Anyone who believes in the second but does not support the NRA is not thinking it through in my opinion or....making excuses to save a buck.

It is only $35 a year and you get a very good gun magazine every month with updates on legeslation that you would probably miss otherwise..  gun and gear tests and articles on firearms history.... last issue was a really good article on the post WWII Garand.

I knew about the gun confiscation and the details of the effort to halt it long before it was mainstream... in most cases... it never was even mentioned... I knew about it because the NRA reported it.

They do a lot of good things for us and...  their entire agenda is simply the right to keep and bear arms and the furthering of hunting and shooting sports.    Their politics are centered on what is best to get that done.

This seems to be a clear violation of the 4th as well.

Should have never happened.

You would think by reading some of these posts that you guys just can`t grasp the logical and practical thinking of homeowner gun confiscation during such dire, stressful times of disaster.
Do you not realize how many crackhead Joes could be injured, or even worse yet killed, while looting and robbing by homeowners and legal gun owners protecting themselves, their families, friends and property?
Democracy is two wolves deciding on what to eat. Freedom is a well armed sheep protesting the vote.
