GROWL has a new website!!!
« on: May 17, 2001, 07:20:00 PM »

GPL Racing Online Warbird League (GROWL) would like to thank DoK GonZo for giving us a home on his newly opened webite.

GROWL is a group of online WW2 aviation enthusiasts (Warbirds, Aces High, WW2OL) who also have a passion for driving the beautiful but deadly Formula One cars from the mid 1960s as feature in Grand Prix Legends.  We are currently in our first full season.

Drop by DoK GonZo's Legendary Games Portal to catch what's up!

Heya Jim! <S>  I haven't got the bug yet, unless they install a .50 cal gun hidden in the grill that I can surprize my oppenents with.

Planning on coming back to the PNW anytime soon? Let me know, we'll hook up.

I joined this league at the beginning, and let me tell ya, it rocks! The intensity of the races is like the most white knuckled,  nail-biting close dogfight you can remember, that lasts for 45 minutes!

And it's the only place where WB and AH fliers cohabitate in peace.

Hey Guys,
Not really had much chance for either AH or GPL recently  :( But I decided to have a quickie the other day and find my "WINVROC" doesn't work anymore.  :( Has something changed? (I can still see the chat but no races come up). No "GPL Path" changes or anything at my end. Has the WINVROC IP changed? or do I possibly need to look elsewhere for my problem?

Thanks in advance

Yep, VROC IP changed. Just copy this to your VROC ini file:

[VROC]
Address=64.81.67.113

Also, GROWL has a new home as well:

GROWL has just started it's 3rd Season having completed the Monaco and Spa events, and  next week the circus moves to Silverstone.

Wehey,
Thanks Cabby. It works great now.   :)

StSanta,
I'll give it a go although there are a lot of others far better qualified than me.

1), Install GPL
2), Go here http://www.noctua.f2s.com/links.html
3), look in the "To do's if you're new to GPL"
4), Get the "Update to 1.2.0.1"
5), Get the "d3d Patch" (Unless you have 3dfx)
6), Apply the Update 1st then the patch

That's the end of the mandatory bits.

At your convenience get the "Disconnect fix" and the FFB wheel update for the "core.ini" (If you have an FFB Wheel). Finally trawl through the 3rd party tracks getting all you can manage, Le Mans 24hr & Milano are a must. Then go through a sequence of backing up and applying all the different combinations of car & scenery patches then restoring and trying another one until you find one you like. (Seriously these really bring the game upto date). Look here if you need convincing http://jfcarsets.racesim.net/car_screenshots/bin/screenshots_v1.2/lotus_v2_g-shift/lotus_v2_g-shift_cockpit.jpg  (Just compare this with the Lotus as supplied)

Finally get "winvroc" and ask someone more knowledgable than me to get it up and running.

Cya on the track
