Ok it's only MPEGs that crash it.  It plays WMVs and AVIs just fine.

Yes Gunsling, 4 times today, once while typing a wall o' text.

It used to be stable, crashes might be a result of the latest XP update. "At Microsoft, our Job isn't done till Firefox won't run." The latest XP patch has confirmed I.E. problems, so I wouldn't be surprised if they also built in some new Firefox bugs - http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-6106039.html?tag=nl.e550

Gunslinger, do you have NoScript?  Disable it for a session and see if it continues to happen.

That might be a sign... ;)

I would have thought that you, of all people, would have learned the virtues of Notepad.

Hi Rolex,

I know, I know, the lazy man loses his text. Ah well, when I lose the next great American novel, I'll change my practice.

BTW - I downloaded Firefox 1.5 today, quite stable so far.

Fill it up again and export them. It creates an HTML file. Dump it on your desktop and next time they eat it, just import the file.

You can find it under the File menu in "Manage Bookmarks"

What is the default software that reads your mpeg? can you watch an mpeg outside of FF?

You can change/edit that in the options.

Clear the cache.

Goon you reminded me of a funny joke:

Quote

Jesus and Satan have a discussion as to who is the better programmer. This goes on for a few hours until they come to an agreement to hold a contest, with God as the judge.

They sit themselves at their computers and begin. They type furiously, lines of code streaming up the screen, for several hours straight. Seconds before the end of the competition, a bolt of lightning strikes, taking out the electricity. Moments later, the power is restored, and God announces that the contest is over.

He asks Satan to show what he has come up with. Satan is visibly upset, and cries, "I have nothing. I lost it all when the power went out."

"Very well, then," says God, "let us see if Jesus fared any better."

Jesus enters a command, and the screen comes to life in vivid display, the voices of an angelic choir pour forth from the speakers. Satan is astonished.

He stutters, "B-b-but how? I lost everything, yet Jesus' program is intact. How did he do it?"

God smiled all-knowingly, "Jesus saves."
