Too me it's just a technical detail. People need to practice more. If five where fired, all five shots should have hit. Three in a heart and two between the eyes.

It seems excessive though, two taps should do it.

I'll respectively disagree on the excessive comment.  If I feel my family is threatened, I'd rather fire two shots too many at the attacker than two shots too few.

I read this in the paper this morning.  A robber broke into a house with 3 occupants, and then he accidentally shot himself dead.

We should not have to lie about it. Breaking into someone's house is a capital offense. We should be open about it, and be able to exercise our right to be safe, without being exposed to the fear of undeserved punishment.

But, the criminal loving libs would not have, would they.

missed shots?   the police are far more likely to have a bunch of stray rounds flying about where people can get hit.

In a home... most misses would hit something to stop or slow down the round... even so... it is worth the risk...  one should be aware of the direction one is firing tho and endever to hit the target.

Angus...  We hear about the bad guys using guns all the time here... I doubt that any case of a bad guy using a gun for something bad EVER goes unreported unless two bad guys are involved and no one sees it.

The point behind the series is that citizens using firearms to protect themselves or others goes unreported... the FBI claims that firearms are used 1.5 million or more times a year to stop criminals sooooo...  it seems like a good thing to get some of the other side out there eh?

yep nifty...  a 57 year old woman attacked in her home by a 29 year old mental case....

Now... some of the anti gun guys here say that a cricket paddle or a golf club is the perfect weapon and all anyone really needs...

How frigging selfish and ignorant of them.   This is a 57 year old woman who is alive today because she was allowed the tools to defend herself.

I would even go so far as to say that since harsher penalties for gun crime came out that it is more likely that the innocent will be armed while the thug is not...

The best of both worlds.

p.s. lazs I'm not antigun...for the USA, I'm just saying :)

The city in where I live for example, hasn't had a single murder for around 3 months, we thought we had one this week but it turned out the guy was drunk and fell off the wharf. I can only think of one significant firearm crime in the last 6 months (something that looked like a pistol used to hold up a money lending place).

FUBAR'd.

Do you have a comparison number?
and 1.5 million times seems sort of high...that would in my little old country mean that 1.500 crimes would need to be stopped with firearms to stick to the same percentage. Well, the percentage last year was nil, and actually, (depending a bit on how to define a crime, but say robbery, burglery, murder and rape) I doubt the total commited crime reached that.

I just hope homeowners insurance covers up the cleanup.

Since my policy tries to dictate what pets I can have, I assume its a matter of time until they try to state which firearms I can own
