For a friend?
« on: August 18, 2006, 11:26:13 AM »
Yesterday at 10:30 am my best friend lost his father. He was a Viet Nam Vet. He served with the US Army LRPS and he also love WWII aircraft very much. I was wondering is there some one ouy there that could capture a shot of a flight of P-47's doing the missing man formation for my friend. The 47 was his dads fav. fighter. My friends dad was around 62 and he was a great guy kinda like a secound dad to me. Um could some on do this for me just need a picture if ya can with the smoke on. Thanks guy's, Red 26 out here.

he was a lrps? thems was some bad mofos.my first squad ldr.when i got to 82nd was a lrp.(long range reconnasence patrol). he must have needed a wheelbarrel to carry around his basketball-sized balls. theirs is a story that needs to be told because the shhiiaat that they did would make rambo look like richard simmons in a gay pride parade.

Yup he was a lrps. The funny thing is ZHe was Army of course but my father was A Marine Force Recon. They had worked with each other for about one month. I had just met my friend and His dad had told me that in Viet Nam he was a lrps I said that that was the sheit and that my father was a Force Recon. Kenny my friends dad said that he had worked with some recons and wanted to meet my dad. So we bought 4 cases of beer and we all sat down wile his dad and mine were telling there stories :aok . Well my dad got about hafe way into a storie and his dad started telling the rest of it. My dad freaked out And ever since then they ran together a bunch. So yea Kenny was a lrps and he still had the mind of one all the way to the end. What unit was you with in the 82nd COBA94? I was attached to the 82nd with a SAPPER team. 153rd Airborne SAPPER's 84th Eng.  AIRBORNE!!!!!! :aok

Hey what year did you goto the SAPPER tranning and were Ive done a little tranning my self and your unit sounds familure. The best thing I think I ever got to do was at camp shelby Ms. We had a group of navy concrete/masonary tech's come through. They were learning how to do 2ndary MOS's well they took like 3 weeks to build this 2 story house it was nice. Well we come in and put up a blast wall with window's of course and strund around 20 pounds of C4 and about 200ft of det cord and after all there hard work made it disapere in like 5 secounds :aok  They all were sick to there stomach . Because we tould them that all the stuff we put down was for testing for stress  :rofl well you can guess the rest.

AIRBORNE!!!! :aok
