Maybe time to google "Italian war victories" ?
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

I just want to clear some stuff up.

Nonetheless, without them the British would very likely have successfully put down the rebellion.

The actual french troops and ships stepped in when the battle was damn near over.

The only thing that France actually did (and without this we would have lost) was to hire a Prussian Military Genius to teach us how to beat Britain.  Without this single event happening, I can easily say we would have lost.

The French just did not have the tactics or organization or logistics required to handle Germany in WW1

Not quite, the French and the british were holding their own against germany.  The problem was that germany defeated Russia on the east front, and then shipped the troops as quickly as possible over to the west front.

So the allies (sub america) are in a stalemate with germany.  No one is really getting anywhere.  Germany was about to bring in a crapload more troops, which would have broken the stalemate in their favor.

But america comes in and gets to the front lines just before the East Front German troops did.  Without the american troops being on the front lines, I can easily say that germany would have won.

At best people like JohnyRa lost the Vietnam war.

But only after the French :)

The French suffered from poor leadership, political and military in WWI and WWII. Actually, they were hardly unusual in that respect. They were just in a position to suffer the most from it, due to geography and time. In WWI their brave troops paid heavily in blood on their home soil for that. In WWII things moved so fast they didn't have a chance to learn/overcome from their mistakes due to the new german tactics and the really poor procurement decisions made by the French leadership before the war.

You can compare and contrast things like:

The Somme
Pearl Harbor (and other targets in 1941)
Iron Bottom Bay
Tunisia
Mark Clark
Assorted N. african campaigns against Rommel
Stalingrad
MK 14 torpedo scandal.
Declaring war on the US.
Declaring war on Russia
etc.

The US, Brits and even Germans had more opportunity to adjust to mistakes (time/resources/geography). The Germans had a another conflict to learn how to fight WW2 before WW2. The French did not, and the french fighting man gave it his best.
