Calling all Ju88 pilots
« on: August 28, 2006, 03:13:10 PM »
I know I've got a generic post up (as does biggles) about joining the Battle of Britain 2006 scenario, but I'd like to emphasize a different part of that, so I'm making a new post.

We need bomber pilots. We're going to need folks that know how to bomb, perhaps how to gun/defend themselves. Preferably "how to bomb". We'll be recording the damage done because we need to know how much damage has been done to any one town. We need to take down FHs at various fields.

So, if you think you can handle this, if you think you can stay in formation and not wander all over the map, if you think you can actually calibrate and aim, and drop, and hit the target, I'd like to personally invite you to fly for the LW in the BOB scenario. We will need plenty of Ju88 pilots for this one. It's not just 109s vs spits!

I am thinking of taking up a Ju88 as well (not to lead a group, just to add a body to the bomber roster). I'm not too shabby when it comes to flying and bombing, but don't count on my gunnery for defense :)

I flew in Battle of Britain 2004 (the last time this scenario was run).  It was a blast.

Ju 88's play a major role (perhaps *the* major role) in this scenario, as victory or defeat depends on whether or not they destroy the targets.

As Krusty said, he'll need good bomber pilots who can get to and hit the targets in a challenging environment -- and he'll need bomber pilots who can give him good intelligence on the condition of what has been hit.

I enjoy flying fighters and bombers, and I've flown in a lot of scenarios.  This one is a very good scenario for bomber pilots -- very exciting with a very important role.

I would love to -- very much love to -- but I have to serve as CM on this one and do some of the grunt work behind the scenes.  It's my turn on this one and Pearl Harbor, so -- alas -- I don't get to fly in a scenario until next year.

Present and accounted for Dace.  Thanks to SKJohn for pointing this thread out.  Unfortunately, he will be using his life jacket this round as he chose to fly British :D   I hope to have a full JU88 squad signed on by weeks end.

Just curious... why did the registration page drop in my name versus the id I was signed in with??  (ie.  Rick Haan vs Alpo)

This might clear it up, I'll post for everyone.

To all folks registering for the BOB06 with AHEvents

After you create your AH events account, log in and go into the profile, and UPDATE this page! This is the page you set your pilot name!

I have many pilots listed on my axis roster that have only a real name and e-mail, NO in-game ID listed!!! I need this info! Go in and update your profile and the next time the roster is printed off it will include it!

Thank you!

I think it might have something to do with your e-mail, as I noticed that it did the same thing in my address book.  Everybody else was listed by their AH name except you.

BTW Alpo, you'll notice that I've requested to change back to the Axis side.  Once I read Krusty's comment about geting to wear leather underwear as an Axis pilot, I just couldn't resist.

And also, since I was naughty and signed up for the Allied side first, I think I need to be spanked by the squad CO while wearing that leather underwear.  :O

Um... That duty is delegated to the team XO.

In related news I'm looking for an XO. Um.... crap, nobody's going to sign up for it now!
